you seem to have chosen one of the worst photos of Julia Roberts I've seen as your avatar. And I'm a fan of Julia's.
I like that picture. Sorry. How's this? |

with all this talk of Duplicity did anyone but me actually go and see it this weekend?
It was okay = pretty good - a "B".
Still Closer is definitely a superior film in comparison -although probably not a fair comparison except the fact they were in that film too.
Clive looked very handsome, but still just a "B" from me. |

I couldn't fit it in today, but tomorrow is the charm. The reviews ranged from A to B, and I guess Trish was in the latter camp. We shall see. |

I'll see DUPLICITY tomorrow. I was at SXSW for the past few days watching 2 million bands.
While getting good to great reviews, Duplicity tanked at the box office. |

That wasn't the impression I got. This is what I heard: although coming in third of the top three, Duplicity did better than okay business and is seen as the type of movie that doesn't shoot its wad in the first weekend like action thrillers and youth comedies, but builds. Maybe that's just talk, but it's the Michael Clayton model. |

Julia Roberts and Clive Owen debuted in third place with their caper pic Duplicity which grossed an estimated $14.4M from 2,574 theaters for a solid $5,595 average. Universal's PG-13 film about former spies that plot a con operation against a pair of corporations marked Roberts' first lead role in a live-action wide opener in more than five years. During that time, the Oscar-winning actress took many supporting roles in films that were not anchored by her like Ocean's Twelve and Charlie Wilson's War. This time around she was the main star and settled for third place, but still posted numbers that were very respectable.

Just curious, billy --
Where did you get the 2 photos of Julia Roberts? I thought both are good. |

Google "Julia Roberts," click "Images," and voila, a treasure trove of Julia shots. Same with anybody or anything. "Images" does the trick. |

Give her some clown makeup in that new avatar and she could pass for the Joker. |

DUPLICITY is confusing, poorly edited and charmless. Word-of-mouth will not be good. Julia Roberts looks old. Clive Owen is fine in a role that doesn't give him much to work with. |

Can you elaborate? I've been curious about whether she could make the transition from "pretty woman" to more mature parts.
I always thought that Roberts would weather the over 40 years just fine. When you say "old," just how old do you mean? |

How do you put a picture in your post? I'm sure I've done it before, but I can't figure it out. |

Upload the picture to tinypic.com (or photobucket.com); you'll have to register on that site but it's a 1-minute deal. When you've done that, it will give you a code for "forums and message boards" - usually starts with a (img) and ends with (/img) but the brackets are squared. Copy that code, and put it into your post, and voila! |

The future Mrs. Marantz is sixty. How do you think she's weathered the 40's:

OK, she was only 59 when this was taken. |
