TAOS had "Terminator 4" filming here!!

There are at least 2 movies filming in the Land of Enchantment right now. Gov. Richardson has worked his Hollywood magic.

Okay, I'm going out on a long, long limb here, but if I'm proved right I want some respect.

Pixar has a new animated feature opening tomorrow called WALL-E that I predict will win the Best Picture Oscar. I'm talking Best Picture, not "best animated feature." Not only is it getting the best reviews of the year by far, but it's apparently an unforgettable statement on various societal ills like ecological waste and morbid obesity.

Remember, you heard it here first...if I'm right.

so billy --

Will you be going to WALL-E tomorrow?

I saw a coming attraction and (with no knowledge of the hype) kind of concluded it didn't interest me. Guess I'll have to go see it now.

Does Al Gore get a "Story by" credit?

Very likely going to go this weekend, though my wife is congenitally tentative about animation.

Congenital anime tentativity is treatable. Start with WB shorts from the 40s, then move up to some Miyazaki and see how she's doing.

Contraindications: obnoxious WB shorts from the '40's. Try alternative treatment.

Sex and the City (the movie) is pretty lame though it has some decent moments. It's like a soap opera with a few laughs and some wildly contrived plot twists. The best performance is given by Oscarwinner/American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson as SJParker's personal assistant. The fashion montages and the gals' relationship are gayer--as in, more male-homosexual--than ever.

Billy--Is the writing as bad as I've heard it is?

Depends on how bad you've heard. There are a couple--but only a couple--of genuinely clever lines. Mostly, however, it's completely predictable and sometimes ridiculously contrived, particularly in the most important plot developments.

The most earth-shattering thing about it is that we finally learn what Big's real name is. SPOILER: It's John James Preston. Wow.

There was some effort made in the pre-release publicity to suggest that there was an important death as part of the plot. SPOILER: No one dies. (If someone had, the movie might have been more interesting.)

I agree that "Sex and the City" wasn't the best...not as good as watching the uncut TV show, BUT I enjoyed it. It was a fun diversion with lots of great clothes and shoes.

Maybe that fact alone wouldn't interest many others on the Forum, but it was more than enough for me to enjoy myself.

To be fair, there have been many worse movies than Sex and the City recently. It just was so-so in almost every respect--and I happen to be a pretty big fan of the television show.

What word would you use to describe the posteriors of J.Lo or Beyonce?

Ass. Nice ass, great ass, sexy ass, However I thought they were. Frankly, I guess I haven't been that interested because I can't picture either of their asses in my mind.

I have always been too damned much of a realist to fantasize about famous beautiful women. If there isn't a possibility in hell that a fantasy could become a reality, just never worked for me. Laughing
