Julia is a customer of mine. I can testify that she is stunning in person.
She's in remarkable shape for 39. She comes into my shop after working out in the gym and she looks great in a track suit. She's a petite hard body. |

I like Julia Roberts, but I think she's been struggling to find the right parts in recent years. I'm loathe to use the term, "A woman of her age," but there are a lot of great actresses who Hollywood no longer see as romantic leads chasing just a handful of plum roles.
Perhaps she should follow Gwyneth Paltrow's route, do a few big films to help pay the bills and concentrate on her own, smaller projects. |

| Julia Roberts has that rare gift that makes the stars stand out from the rest of the detritus in the fundament, she makes you love her. Never more so than in Notting Hill. |

I happen to adore Julia Roberts, something I can say about only a handful of "movie stars." She really fulfills the definition--a charismatic presence who can genuinely carry a film. She can be really bad too--dull dull dull
in the Oceans movies and wrong wrong wrong in The Mexican--but when she's on, as in Erin and My Best Friend's Wedding, I am there. |

I've never seen Pretty Woman or Notting Hill.
They sound like good date movies. |

It would be hard to be better than her deserved Oscarwinning turn in Erin Brockovich, a well-received but still severely underrrated classic.
Of course, I had ERIN BROCKOVICH in mind when I wrote the above. Why don't you watch her in CRIME STORY and see what YOU think? |

I've always had the hots for her. You're really going out on a limb.
Considering the impressive list of past boyfriends, I suspect gromit is right. |

They are. The big difference is this: Pretty Woman is a piece of crap and Notting Hill is a really good movie. |

Julia has done some stinkers (MARY REILLY) but impressed me with CLOSER. She seems to excel in romantic comedies (RUNAWAY BRIDE, PRETTY WOMAN, etc.) and was just right for ERIN BROCKOVICH, of course.
I do wonder what kind of roles await her as she enters her 40's...but she's doing plenty of voice-overs and will probably spend lots of time with family in the near future. And the NY play is on the horizon, too.
I'll be really interested to see how successfully she can forge a career as an "older" actress - traditionally a tough area with fewer available parts. (Think Jessica Lange).
BTW, Nicole Kidman (only a little older than Roberts) is approaching this age, too. |

Now that I've checked, it seems that I've only seen a handful of Julia Roberts films.
2 early: Mystic Pizza and Pelican Brief
2 recent: Mona Lisa Smile and Closer
and 1 in the middle: Erin Go Braghkovich
I did see a poor copy of Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, but don't remember Julia R. in that. Otherwise, I've seen almost none of her romantic comedies, so that probably colors my opinion.
I did once have a Chinese girlfriend who looked like Julia Roberts.
Whew, that was a wild ride. |

| She was very very good in Steel Magnolias. That was when I first noticed her. |
