Joss was pretty amusing in his brief role on Veronica Mars. But to tell you the truth, I was more jazzed to see America's Next Top Model contestant Kim do her speaking part as Joss's subordinate at the car rental agency. She was really good! |

Hello, my name is DL, and I was a LOST addict. It's been one WHOLE DAY and I managed to avoid watching LOST last night.
I've pretty much decided to give up the show. Too little action, too little return. And I'm getting tired of watching through the dribble only to get nada. |

Ah, you missed a good one last night, then.
I almost gave up on Lost mid-season one. But it picked up at the end. This second season is, so far, brilliant. |

DL - Gotta agree with Shannon there. Last night's Lost was damn good. Plus, here's something that might bring you back to the island: the previews for the next new episode indicate that we're going to be getting at least one (and maybe more than one?) episode dealing with the back story on the second group of survivors, how they dealt with things in the immediate aftermath of the crash, etc. |

Interesting that in Shannon's flashback on Lost we learn that her father was killed when his vehicle was hit by an SUV. Last season in a Kate flashback we saw a scene in which she was fleeing the police outside a hospital after unsuccessfully trying to reconcile with her sick mother. Kate was driving an SUV, wasn't she? And then didn't she have a crash and flee the scene? Might Abrams & Co have a plan to tie these two events together?
It was a good idea that the episode flashed back to the 18-year old Shannon. We got the sense that she was a bit flighty, perhaps, but she had not yet become the party girl who sought rich men to leech onto. We could see that her life could have gone in a different direction, but she caught a few bad breaks, handled them badly and became the cynical woman with low self esteem we saw at the beginning of the series. |

Actually Shannon's father drove into the car that Jack's future wife was driving. Jack chose to operate on the woman, and (probably) as a result, Shannon's father died. |

Love your avatar. Which Buffy was that? When Spike was living with Xander? |

Serenity is coming out on DVD on December 20. Amazon.com has it available for pre-ordering at $13 (43%) off. I will probably have to succumb to this. |

Re last Wednesday's Lost:
While it was good to get Ana Lucia's backstory, a little of her surly disposition can go a long way quickly. The episode also explained why she has a quick trigger finger. Plus it's always great to see Rachel Ticotin onscreen. What made the episode sing, however, was the ending in which we got to see the reunion of those who had been separated by circumstances. Bernard and Rose. Sun and Jin. Dammit, even Michael hugging the dog brought a lump to my throat. Only Walt remains missing now.
Oh wait. Wasn't there a lady with an Australian accent from the tailender group who went missing right before Shannon got shot? I know the plane was bound for Los Angeles, but it seems strange there were so few Aussies on board. |

C.S.I. (the original series) served up a particularly grisly episode even by their standards on Thursday night. On a night when many viewers were still stuffed from Thanksgiving dinner, they decided to air an episode in which a guy with an eating disorder (as in, he eats too much) enters one of those "Who can eat the most food in a few minutes" contests and eats himself to death. Oy! That got me back on my Weight Watchers diet in a hurry. |

Hi everyone - thanks for the warm welcome.
Lost was good last week, but I agree about Ana Lucia's attitude getting a little tired. The Jack/Locke/Echo interaction was interesting. I enjoy the tension between Jack and Locke, and usually find myself pulling for Locke. |
