Don't worry they'll be another one along in a while.

Did she do "Broken English"? "Working Class Hero?" "Why d'Ya Do It?" "Sweetheart?" (the last is my favorite)

Sorry ain't bee around the keyboard all week, yes and a lot more she was in such good form she promised several encores and delivered, in spades!!

It was an intimate surrounding, I was too close for kindness, and she futhered it by telling many tales of her writings and the wonderful people who contributited or stole from her....an unforgettable time was had by all.

As you may recall, Jessica gave me $2500 for John Kerry, so I'm definitely in her corner. Her performance has been extremely controversial, however.

Yeah? I haven't heard about the controversy, but I can only imagine it's along the lines of her playing Amanda more like Tennessee's actual Mother and not like the frumpy housefrau she's been done as a 1,000 times before. Have you read the review in The New Yorker? He goes into detail about this very thing.

Now, this is really too much. I don't come here for this. I get far, far too much of this at home already.

I was being euphemistic when I said "controversial." Actually her performance has been more or less universally savaged, except by Hilton Als in The New Yorker. I must say his review makes me more interested in the show, though I am still recovering from the disappointment over the fact that Lange's production makes it impossible for Sally Field, who apparently gave a stupendous performance as Amanda a few months ago at the Kennedy Center, to come to Broadway in the role. I am an admirer of Lange's (especially since meeting her), but a screaming frothing Sally Field groupie. And anyone who disparagingly quotes "you really like me" (something she's been disgracefully misunderstood about) should immediately see Norma Rae, Sybil, and Steel Magnolias and eat their words.

Usually the fora name changes are due to some overnight mischief - but I can find no discernable reason for the tom foolery. Too bad.
