We just finished watching Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. This movie is destined to be the Caddyshack of today's "younger generation". Funny, silly, and playing to the growing majority of minorities in the U.S. of A., it goes light on the social commentary without completely ignoring, while basically mooning everyone and everything. Recommended. |

Chilly - Oh, come on.....you just want to see if Jessica Alba gets more nekked than in the trailers.
Jeremy - Did you see that delightful piece of awfulness that was The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? I loved it (and Underground also - bought the EXtended version - YEAH!)
The vampire babies really just were bad, bad, bad. And STUPID - this from the person who just gave the above movies a thumbs up (?)

I keep seeing pictures of this girl Jessica Alba everywhere and I swear to fuckin' god I have no idea who she is. Maybe this year's Paris Hilton? |

VERA DRAKE is another fine fine film from Mike Leigh. Its terrifically written, beautifully acted by the entire cast and gorgeously shot by Dick Pope. Its inspiring to see an artist (Leigh) dealing with difficult subject matter (abortion) with depth and subtlety. Abortion is not a black and white issue.
VERA DRAKE is an intelligent, compassionate film about a very complex issue. |

Paris Hilton is actually one of the few breaths of fresh air left in this stoic stifled and stuffy USA. I dig a girl who's famous only for being famous. Andy Warhol spins in his grave for never having met her ! Besides she's a sweety..can't wait til they find the right vehicle (film) for her to star in. I'll pay $10.50 for the laughs and the beauty. She is actually a member of a fine group of hot or ditsy women/actresses who didn't take themselves too seriously. Marilyn Monroe, Jean Harlow, Valerie Perrine, Judy Holliday, Barbara Harris, Melanie Griffith etc. She was a charming surprise on the mostly pallid SNL recently. |
