Welcome to the Blanches. Below are the general rules and schedule for nominations and voting.
Nominations are posted on the forum itself. Each participant can submit three nominees in each category; please include all three nominees in one post to help the volunteer counters out. Counters, please pay attention during the days when your category is receiving nominations. The five nominees getting the most votes will go on to final voting. If there is a tie, we can extend it to six nominees by consensus of the participating Third Eyers.
All nominees will be posted on Feb. 24. Voting via e-mail to the counters in all categories will take place from the time the nominees are announced through midnight wherever you live, Feb. 26. Winners will be posted on Oscar Night, Feb. 27.
For a list of films released in 2004, go to http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/index2004.html
If you have seen a film at a festival in 2004 but it was not released, it is eligible for nomination. Revival films like Ikiru are not eligible, however.
I’ll put up the list of counters and their categories during the voting week. As always, you may lobby for your favorites. Please put “For Your Consideration” in your message if you want to do this.
Schedule for Nominations
Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress - Jan. 21 – 26 (midnight wherever you live)
Song, Score, and Documentary - Jan. 26 – 31
Original Screenplay and Adapted Screenplay – Feb. 1 – Feb. 5 (midnight wherever you live)
Cinematography and Foreign-Lang. Film - Feb. 6 – 11 (midnight wherever you live)
Actor and Actress - Feb. 12 – Feb. 17 (midnight wherever you live)
Director and Best Film - Feb. 18 – Feb. 23
Nominees posted Feb. 24
Voting ends Feb. 26
Winners announced on Oscar Night Feb. 27 |

Excited to be participating in my first Blanche awards. I think I missed them on the NYT last year.
Regardless, this will be cool.

Welcome to our nomination process. Yambu and I will be taking nominations for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress, respectively, beginning now through the 26.
The floor is open for nominations. Three per customer per category. |
