Yeah, we now have Governor Douchey. I think that's how it is pronounced. Well, at least the Dems held on to two of the three swing Congressional districts. Thanks to the Navajo, I guess.
Dems ran a pretty lackluster slate of candidates, statewide. Didn't even bother putting up a candidate against the horrid Trent Franks. They HAVE TO be able to do better. |

SDak. voted to raise its min wage, but replaced its Dem. senator with a Rep. who hates the raise. My precinct is strongly Dem., due to many Natives and college people and sage-sniffers from back East. |

Mr. Calhoun would be livid to see who were elected Governor and Senator from South Carolina. |

Quote: Obama didn’t help matters... While he has brought his substantial political skills to bear on his presidential campaigns, he has remained detached from the midterm elections in 2010 and 2014, insisting last month that his policies would speak for themselves. But by withdrawing from the struggle—and not attempting to frame the 2010 or 2014 elections—Obama allowed voters to blame him and the Democrats for whatever continues to ail America. And the Republicans did a good job in this election of turning the voters’ attention on Obama and away from their own lack of a program for the country. |

Word.
Several scholars have compared BHO to Wilson, and the more I learn about Wilson, the truer that seems.....

Neither were truly political animals, which makes them admirable men, but not always up for the game. For all his charisma, Barack has sometimes seemed a little too ethereal and scholarly....too high-minded to go after the Repubs like a pitbull on a postman, not slutty enough to sleep with them, not nasty enough for horsetrading. He is an uncommonly decent man - how on earth did he get so far in politics? |

Let's face it, that's the only strategy the Republicans have. It seems to work, though. |

For these people who have been scared for so long, who fear for their children's education and other opportunities, on Tuesday they voted for Anyone But. |

It seems rather ironic that the Wall Street Journal and the top 1% are so hostile to Obama, when they're the ones who have profited the most (in fact, they're practically the only ones who've profited) throughout his presidency. And their Republican buddies in Congress are the ones who have stonewalled his every effort to do something worthwhile, because of Socialism, which is the code word for "he wants to raise my taxes." |

I'm really pleased that Clayton Kershaw won the National League MVP. He went 21-3, had the lowest ERA for a starting pitcher in 19 years, struck out 239 while walking only 31, and, while starting only 27 games, faced 100 more batters than either his top two competitors had plate appearances.
Now if we could just give Greg Maddux and Pedro Martinez the MVPs they deserved. |

Man made good film - even some that crits called duds, like Wolf, I found quite watchable. Loved Silkwood. Obit is fascinating...was not aware Albert Einstein was his cousin, or the anarchist, Landauer. |
