Heh! Given the apocka-theme in TWE, it sounds almost like a UK "rule of two" with TITE. Has a great cast - Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Pegg, et al. Was going to WFV, but am going to TITE this week on the strength of your and Ghulam's blurbs.

Marc notwithstanding, I'm hearing some great word of mouth on Man of Steel. This movie could break all records.

I'm on jury duty this week, and found myself as prospective juror 23 next to prospective juror 22, who turned out to be a film reviewer at US Weekly. The lawyer asked him if he'd seen any good movies lately, and he said that "World War Z" was pretty good. During a break I asked him, Really? He said it's an action thriller and he enjoyed it, but then again, he likes zombies. (He didn't care for "Man of Steel.")

The best I've heard about World War Z is that it's not as bad as the pre-release buzz. Then again, almost nothing could have been as bad as that buzz.

I've heard from several people that the other recent zombie flick, Warm Bodies, was pretty good, but I still skip it. Just not subscribing to the recent idea that zombies deserve a whole genre. I thought NOTLD was silly, and have only really enjoyed films like "Fido" or "Shaun of the Dead," which mock the concept.

Haven't seen Fido but Shaun of the Dead was terrific.

Zombies seem to be trying to beat the vampire series, that seem to be a big love interest for women.

Hey, even I know that one. Night of the Living Dead.

He should have put the 'o' and 't' in lower case. Razz

Never saw the repeat but saw the first one on TV in '69. Gruesome but good.

The film I was referring to was Neurological Oblivion, Thou Lovely Damsel, hence it needed no lower case. A zombie film from the fifties in which a beautiful woman zombie from the 1500's is transported to a modern U.S. city through a dimensional aperture, and goes about seducing young men and sucking out their brains through the deft use of an icepick and soda straw. And, of course, sex.

Laughing

Seriously, NotLD worked for me as an interracial dating movie.

I never get tired of Night of the Living Dead. It's an amazing movie. Drives me up the wall when people (like my brother) say "Nothing happens. They just sit around talking to each other."

But my favorite Romero movie will always be Martin.

The Branagh /Thompson "Much Ado" is a sumptuous delight, showing off the Tuscany countryside. This new one brings it inside, slows everything way down, and allows the Benedict-Beatrice relationship to breathe.

As always with Emma, I find her too strong, too invulnerable. She'll be picking poor Benedict apart for the rest of their days. This new version softens that at the end, showing the couple mooning longingly at each other.

My favorite scene in both films is when Benedict's friends set him up to eavesdrop on them. This version plays out the entire lengthy text, and it's a scream. Why did Branagh choose to cut and slash here?

The Dogberry character is a minus.
