I never read the book and don't even know who wrote it, but I did like the movie and all it's weird characters.

I always like John Cusack and he was very good in it. I have never cared for Eastwood's directing very much, but I liked his work on this one.

It was a good movie. Very well cast, too. As a big John Cusack fan, I thought this was one of his better roles.

Not sure on the spoiler, but if I remember from my last viewing of this film, I would have to go with the last option.

Watched Bad Teacher yesterday. Funny, raunchy and clever. Justin Timberlake continues to impress me with his acting and humor.

Cameron Diaz worked well. She reminded me a lot like Goldie Hawn in this role of a teacher that doesn't care and is trying to raise money for new boobs.

And of course, Jason Segal as a love interest. Ever since his role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I've liked him in comedic movies (I still consider his role in "I Love You Man" one of this best, alongside FSM)

Who the hell is Lucy Punch and what has she done before this movie? She played a great wacko/psycho teacher.

Lucy Punch was an evil (also psychotic) stepsister in Ella Enchanted - whether or not you saw that, I don't know. (I did, like a billion times.) She was also on a British TV show that marantz and barton liked - I did too, but let it go after a handful of eps - about a doctor who's a fish out of water in a small fishing village*. She's had a bunch of small parts in the past few years, including a failed ensemble TV show**. But she keeps getting work, and her roles seem to be getting larger (finally). I like her a lot.

*Doc Martin - the show's pretty funny, with or without Ms. Punch
** The Class, I think

Punch was terrific as Anthony Hopkins's lamebrained trophy wife in Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.

You know, I don't recall seeing that Woody Allen movie. Will have to look it up to refresh my memory. And add it to my list to watch.

I was debating seeing Bad Teacher. But if a penguin likes it, maybe that will tip the balance in its favor.

Lucy Punch was delightful as the sassy and somewhat incompetent receptionist for Doc Martin.

It's a fun watch. Us flightless birds laughed out loud.

It's basically a kids' movie with some cheesy musical numbers - personally, I lap that stuff up, but consider yourself warned.

Just got and watched Terry Pratchett's Going Postal and enjoyed it immensely, considerably more than Hogfather and The Colour of Magic. I saw part of it at a science-fiction convention where the listening conditions were terrible. It improves a lot when you can hear the dialog. It's a generally faithful adaptation of the novel, which is one of Pratchett's best, with acting just over-the-top enough for his fantasy world.

In this one, Lord Vetenari gives con man Moist von Lipwick one last chance, which is to take over the moribund Ankh-Morpork Post Office and make it a rival to the clacks (sort of a semaphore system using shuttered and unshuttered lamps), which is run by the evil Reacher Gilt, who legally stole it from its inventor, the father of Adora Belle Dearheart.* Adora is also head of the Golem Trust (explained better in the books; it enables golems to buy their freedom), and since Moist's parole officer is a golem... And since a large part of why Reacher Gilt was able to take control over the clacks was fallout from one of Moist's schemes, this complicates Moist's pursuit of the formidable Adora. Not least because she owns a crossbow and isn't afraid to use it.

*One line in one of the books is something like "My parents named me Adora Belle Dearheart, so as you imagine I have a very short temper."

Warned indeed. Perhaps I will ask my daughter (movielover14) if she's seen it.
