Marj: Well, to me it really is a remarkable achievement taken on the aggregate. Reactions vary as to the individual quality of the fillums, but it's sump'n. Allergies are the pits, candles lit.
Suggestion: Perhaps we could slot Cinematography and Editing in before/alongside Lead Actor and Actress, Director and Picture scheduling?
Must say, the absence of many perennial participants in the mix is a little disheartening. Hope peeps are all right. |

Quote: They did it in The Gladiator when one of the main actors died during the making of it.
And that actor was the legendary Oliver Reed. |

Thanks Marc, I couldn't remember his name and was too lazy to look it up. |

Unprecedented Tradition-Flaunting Dept.:Just a thought that hit me amid last night's [ferociously enjoyable] L.A. premiere of God of Carnage, but took this long to register on my addled brain-pan: Since this year is clearly a anomaly, a first-time-delayed affair, and since, inevitably, the lack of formal Blanche prep has put the whole process into under-attended disarray, how unacceptable would it be to fudge on previous deadlines, respectfully ask volunteer tabulators to keep an eye out for incoming entries in their categories, and reboot/open the schedule up to late input? Otherwise, seems to me, the whole point of this year's delay -- more members have a chance to see more films and up the chances of Blanche truly being anti- or at least counter-Oscar -- will have been for naught. Just a thought, puttin' it out there, please don't hit me, am going now to watch the HBO Mildred Pierce again. |

Good idea inla, and one that I also though would be a better way to go given the situation. I'm still puzzled about Lorne and Chilly. How much time would it take to check on the site and post a message. Something's very odd and worrisome. |

Another mystery is that Lorne seems to have knocked off a number of phony members a month or so ago and there haven't been any new ones (phonies for sure), able to sign up. That has never happened before. 400 or so phony sign up are still there though. |

marantzo: That is peculiar. I took the plunge and e-mailed both lshap and chillywilly to inquire, fingers/toes/eyes crossed. |

As billy noted, heard from Chilly, who (like Lorne and so many of us are) is up against it work-wise. Said he'd be free on Sunday to participate, that doing a specialty forum is Lorne's bailiwick as far as he knows, and that's all I knows. |

What Inla said, times three. Why three? It just sounded good. |

Speaking of self promotion: My sister's film premiers tonight at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in NC tonight, then moves to the Tribeca Film Festival the week of the 25th.
Here's some info on the film. Check Tribeca FF for ticket info. I do hope some people from Third Eye get to see it.

I have no problem reviewing votes for screenplays beyond the period originally set. If/when we get a nerw forum topic up for the Blanches, I'll post who I have votes from and take more nominations for a reasonable time period. |

Marj--looks like an interesting film. I've never yet made it to a Tribeca Festival film (I tried once, to find everything sold out, and never tried again), but maybe I'll make the effort. And maybe PBS will pick it up--wouldn't that be nice? |
