Lorne, for some reason Americans don't know about bloody caesars. I Have no idea why not. In Grand Forks and Fargo you can get them anywhere, but that's because of living so close to Canada and having more Canadian travellers than population. When I was staying with my friend who lives in Palm Springs, we had a poker game at his place one night and I made some bloody caesars for the players, (all Americans except for my friend and me), They loved them and I was busy all game and they were snockered. I won some money too.
It might just be that Americans don't like getting things from other countries (though I don't know where it originated), like single payer health care e. g. |

Lemon wedge instead of lime. Vodka and Clamato Juice (should be Mott's). Usually salt and Worcestershire sauce added. |

Bloody Mary herself was pretty manly. |

Eat Pray Love is going to be reviewed shortly on the morning radio show I'm listening to. Saw the preview of this film a few times and it looks like crapolla. I'll sound get a hint if I were right in thinking that. |

Early reviews make it sound awful. |

Your friend Alison Gillmor is giving the review. I usually agree with her. She's also reviewing The Expendable which shows signs of stinking. |

The Expendables, even though Stallone is one of my all-time least-favorite stars, sounds more watchable than Eat Pray Love, even though Roberts is one of my all-time favorites. Go figure. |

Well, the only thing good that Gillmor said about EPL is that it's a good travelogue. She said The Expendables was not a good action film and later when she was reviewing Scott Pilgrim vs The World, she said that the love story was much better than EPL and the fight scenes were better than TE. She liked it. |

Gary, I thought Knight & Day was a new release, but it seems to have departed the theaters here. Will look for it on DVD, later in the year. |

Can't think of two films more dissimilar than EPL and The Expendables. They should simply paint a male icon on the Expendables theater door and a female icon on the door to EPL, and let the audience divide accordingly, like they do for the bathrooms. |

So where are the good films of 2010?
I plan to see The Kids are Alreet.
And possibly Inception, especially if I can manage to see it in a theater.
And what else, folks?
(not interested in dopey action films, silly rom-coms or teenage male humor -- unless exceedingly well done) |

Gromit - Knight & Day has a layer or two of depth along with an undeniable action-film pace. A better film than I was expecting.
Inception was less than its raves and more than its dismissive naysayers. It's a very good intellectual exercise with a mediocre emotional payoff.
Mr. Nobody has a lot in common with Inception, except it lacks the marketing push of A-list actors so it may not even be playing where you are.
Toy Story 3 is still my favourite film of the year so far. |

Is you be kidding?
Everything turns up here on Dvd.
I think Mr. Nobody just arrived last week, so I'll keep my ears open for more info on that.
Could be a go.
I think I forgot there was a Toy Story 3.
Yeah, I'll watch that, especially since I can pass it along to the nieces afterward. |
