Knight and Day starts in an airport (I think, I missed the first few minutes), then on a plane. Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise are on the plane. They chit chat. Diaz goes to the washroom and that's where the fun begins. With Cameron in the can going through all the different scenarios for a possible connection with Cruise and the action taking place outside between Cruise and everyone else on the plane which she is oblivious to, is hilarious. It kick starts the movie and it doesn't let up from there. Cruise is very good and Diaz is very very good.
I remember Billy giving it a good review and he was right. I had fun fun fun till the ending took the movie away. |

Knight and Day has been underrated. It's a great popcorn flick, no mean achievement. |

Cruise, "I warned you about getting on the plane"
Diaz, "How did you warn me?"
(When she was upset about not being allowed on the plane) Cruise. "I told you that sometimes there is a reason for things like that."
Diaz, "THAT'S A WARNING??? HOW IS THAT A WARNING???
DON'T GET ON THE FUCKING PLANE IS A WARNING!!!!"
That's probably not exact, but it was a pisser. |

It was a pisser, and I haven't liked Cruise this much in a long time. Diaz I always like, but here she was particularly piquant. |

Same here. I've never been a Cruise fan though I think he's been at least adequate in most roles, but he was really fun to watch in KaD. He created a memorable, manic character. Hard to image why he is such a jerk in real life.
Have always liked Diaz mysef, and they were very good together. |

"Piquant"?
I suddenly don't feel quite as old. Thanks! |

Just be grateful he prefers bluejeans. "Piquant" AND kakhis -- that would be the slippery slope to smoking jackets and brandy snifters.
I thought of Diaz as having a sort of career lull, so I'm glad to hear she is back in piquant form in K&D. She was not so piquant, or anything else good, in The Box. |

True, Diaz hadn't done much of note recently (at least according to what I can remember). But, like Billy, I've really liked her over the years, and it would be great to see her enter the next phase of her career as she moves from smokin' piquant to mildly zesty. |

Excuse me, Diaz is half Latino, so the word is "picante." |

LOL. Didn't know my use of an unusual word would spark so much response. Interesting. |

Speaking of piquant or picante, for some strange reason Colombians in general don't like spicy food. When looking for Tabasco sauce (some things are hard to find there), I finally found some and it was Tabasco (mild). Who wants Tabasco sauce if it's mild? Colombians. |

Yes and it's around $10 for the smaller version. That really pissed me off and when I got home I bought Vodka and a big bottle of Clamato juice, spicy, ($2.49 on sale) and made Bloody Caesar's every night for two weeks. It had been over a year since I had one. |

Right now, a whole bunch of our American friends are thinking, "What the hell is a 'Bloody Caesar'?" I remember being in a fancy steak restaurant in midtown Manhattan, ordering a Bloody Caesar, and having the waitress return a minute later, apologizing that nobody had ever heard of the drink.
Same story two days later in an upscale Italian restaurant in Tribeca. |

Never heard of it, myself. I'll stick to screwdrivers unless there's a good cheap wine. |
