It was nominated for last year's Academy Award, not the upcoming one. |

Re-watched Scorsese's last film, The Departed. It is friggin' fantastic, even better than I remember it. Aside from his sublime storytelling he has an uncanny sense of choosing the perfect musical score. I can't imagine a better director working today and I'm so hyped to see Shutter Island! |

It looks pretty hokey to me, but Earl's mom liked the book. Maybe that will be the next movie he and I check out. Unless she wants him to see it with her. |

That's what his mom said. Where is Earl, anyway... |

Marj.........because of you I watched The Spiral Staircase last night. I thought I had already seen it but I was confusing it with an eary Hitchcock film. Anyway.......it was gripping. I turned the lights out and glued my eyes to the action. The rain. The big, old Victorian house. The young woman who had lost her voice. Who did it? |

Billy.......Did you see Funny Games?
I just watched Julia because you and someone else thought Tilda Swinton should have been nominated this year........Actually her film was released in 2008.....
Tilda is definitely a versatile and talented actress and her day will probably come. But Julia was toooooo long at 2 hours and 20 minutes. She needs to be directed by Kathryn Bigelow. The story ended up being a good one......but there was another half hour of deleted scenes. Talk about over-exposure. |

I'm seeing a lot of classics lately. Yesterday I watched Hard To Kill with the kick-ass icon, Steven Seagal. What could be more fun than watching really evil people getting splattered in all forms of destruction. Nothing, of course. The body count is more than impressive. Kelly LeBrock, the lead actress is very appealing. Where did she go from here?
The movie he made a couple of years later, Under Siege, was actually very good. |

She went on to become the ex-Mrs. Steven Seagal. |
