Oh, gosh, whiskey, give it up. The Straight Story was my favorite movie of 1999. (Of course, Mullholland Dr. was my favorite of 2001, so there you are.) |

But they are very very different movies as you well know. Don't scare whiskey off. |

Whiskey,
I guarantee you'll be pleasantly surprised by The Straight Story.
If you're not, I'll send you a dvd of one of the most amazing things you'll ever see. |

Hell, whiskey, even I have managed to avoid Inland Empire. (Actually, I saw the first ten minutes and quickly bailed.) Even for a Mulholland fanatic, that one is a non-starter.
And Manohla Dargis (she who worships at the shrine of Synecdoche, New York) loved Inland Empire. That should have warned me. |

Billy where were you when everyone jumped on me for not appreciating the genius of Inland Empire? Whiskey there's no way one could be lead from The Straight Story to that. Apples and oranges. |

I was apparently absent, because I don't even remember it being discussed. I don't think it ever came to Winnipeg, which probably saved me money and disappointment. |

Your take would have been amusing. I thought the movie was a mess, but it sure had its supporters (guess every Lynch movie will, like Fellini) here. |

Have we found a supporter for Fellini Satyricon? |

I liked INLAND EMPIRE, but didn't love it. It lacked the polish and flow of Mulholland Dr. and seemed more scattered and less interesting. Bizarre, but creative would be how I would describe my two viewings of INLAND EMPIRE. |

You were bizarre but creative? Does this mean you were doing drugs at the time? |
