Mirgun,

check out Von Trier's "Breaking The Waves" and Dancer In The Dark". Von Trier is a film maker who polarizes audience's and critics. I like him alot. He's a shit stirrer.

well, you know that I've not seen his other films you mentioned..But I will.. But, what about "Antichrist?" i wanted to tell the world when I got out of the movie... and nobody knows because it hasn't opened in all theaters yet. And in NYC, it's only at IFC. ..

once you get the hang of it, this site is very user friendly. One of the best I've seen. And I'm not just saying that because we created it. This is a very sexy site.

Antichrist, like all of Von Trier's films are a tough sell. I know Antichrist will open in Austin and most major cities. I don't know about secondary cities.
Because of it's subject matter, it may not open in places like Salt Lake or Norman. But, who knows. If it does good box office in the big cities, it will widen it's release.

Why does The Blair Witch Project get such a bad rap a decade later? It exploded onto the scene because it was a different breed of film, and because, for many, it was freakin' scary. People were watching something they hadn't seen before, and in many cases they were taken to places they'd never been before. It was guerrilla filmmaking, done on a budget of half a shoestring, and the guys who made it leapfrogged over practically every other big-budget studio release at the time because they tapped into something those other films couldn't. In my opinion BWP earned every dollar of the millions it made.

I'm not a horror fan, but I give BWP credit for what it was. Not sure why Mirgun and others continue to knock it.

I think it gets a bad rap because it's a poorly acted, completely unfrightening, and plot-wise fairly ridiculous movie.

Haven't seen Antichrist and have no intention of doing so. Lars von Trier is my least favorite living director, possibly outside of Kevin Smith. I despise every frame of every von Trier movie I've seen in toto or in part. This includes Breaking the Waves, Dogville, and Dancer in the Dark.

I've never seen any of his work. I've read a couple of articles on Antichrist, and can't figure out why it has that title.

i just thought of something.. maybe if it did not have the title" ANTIchrist" regardless of it's graphic and disturbing nature of thought, it might've played n Salt Lake etc. Well, just a thought but it's a tough sell as you say..

Breaking the Waves, Dogville, and Dancer in the Dark are masterpieces, each and every one.
