I watched it more than once myself. The first time I made it to the second section and I couldn't put off walking out any longer. Then I walked into it after I'd seen another movie at a multiplex. People on here said that the second part was good so I thought I'd give it a shot. Unfortunately there was still about 20 minutes left in the first part. I really tried but I just could stomach it. I walked out again. |

| DEATH PROOF is the film that pretty much soured me on Tarantino's schtick. He's a one trick pony who is devolving as a filmmaker. The dialogue in DEATH PROOF is dreadful. I couldn't get past the first half hour. On the other hand, Robert Rodriguez's PLANET TERROR is a blast. |

Exactly my opinion on that double bill. Tarantino is no Rodriguez. |

I love Planet Terror, just one of those great gross out films. Rose Mcgowan and Freddy Rodriguez - especially Freddy - were just so great.
I thought Death Proof was sub par and not up to Tarantino's usual caliber. I did find a new song I dug - Hold Tight. Fun name for the band as well - Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich. |

I wouldn't exactly say I loved Planet Terror, but next to Death Proof it's a masterpiece. Again, however, Kurt Russell was still pretty fine. The women ranged from annoying but impressive (Zoe Bell) to get-me-out-of-here-before-I-strangle-her (Ms. Poitier).
Marc is right: the dialogue in Death Proof is horrendous. Amateurish, adolescent, and most of all, boorrrrriiiizzzzzzzz....... |

| Well, love might be a strong word - but in as much as you can love a film that treats you to the sight of a would-be rapist balls melting off - that was fun. |

And he was amazing in Six Feet Under.
Incidentally, the scenes between him and Rose McGowan in Planet Terror were among the sexiest I've seen in years. That to me was the real value of the film. They had hot hot hot chemistry. |

He is among the most cretinously amateurish "actors" ever to play important roles on the big screen. He was sort of kind of okay in Reservoir Dogs, but everywhere else he's like fingernails on a blackboard.
He was also extremely unentertaining as the guest host on Saturday Night Live one night long ago, and I don't think they've ever asked him back.
He costarred with Marisa Tomei in a very short-lived Broadway revival of Wait Until Dark and received Madonna-style pans from all the critics. |

| Now there's a concept, have Tarantino and Madonna star in a remake of Roman Holiday. Planet Nine from Outer Space deserves some competition. |
