Just to let people know - I'm not voting right now because I've seen precious few 2008 movies.

Now, ask me about Japanese silents or what's coming out of Iran, and I can come up with an answer; but 2008, not so much. There's the film festival, but not even so much that. %^<

There's the Erich von Stroheim Merry Widow (admittedly not seen, although I'd kill to see it), the Uchida Tomu Yoto monogatari: Hana no Yoshiwara hyaku-nin giri, and that photo shoot I posted a few days ago; but 2008 films? Sadly, no.

(See? Told you.)

For your consideration: "Dracula's Lament" from Forgetting Sarah Marshall

"Latika's Theme" from Slumdog Millionaire

"Jai Ho" from Slumdog Millionaire

And, of course, "Rock Me Sexy Jesus" from Hamlet 2

Hi,

I'm not sure i can participate this year - I am way way way behind in my movie watching - I dont think I can catch up in time to make the deadlines.

It's been a decidedly un-fun year - I hope 2009 is better

We're not voting yet. I was just looking up song clips. There's also a twangy Miley Cyrus/John Travolta duet in Bolt. It's sung as we trace the characters' journey across a three-dimensional Mr. Waffle map. Apparently nobody's lifted it for Youtube. I'm still waiting for Repo: The Genetic Opera, which looks like it may have some worthwhile songs.

Same here. I can't drive anymore, and getting to the Berkeley theatres by bus and then BART is a pain in the ass. I did manage to get to Doubt, and that was the best film I've seen all year, either at home or at the movies.

Thanks Nancy! My best to your friend as well.

Marj--All I know is you are beautiful.

I always hesitate to name names because I always forget someone. But it is good to see all those familiar monikers, from the inestimable Whiskey, to Marantzo and the Weeds.

I don't know Whitney like the rest of you do, but it's good to see faces from the early days (now the early days are from 5+ years ago).

Welcome back, Whitney.

Whit--As soon as I finish my present job, I'll email you. It's been too long and I've missed you and your lovely smile.

Now it's time to count runoffs .... I think everyone's voted but if not, you still have until midnight tonight. And just to make it easy for all, let's make that pacific time.
