Hey, you were impressed with Jolie in Laura Croft and impressed with A Man and A Woman.

That's not easily impressed, it's delusionally impressed.

aww is someone jealous of my good taste in film?

don't worry you'll get over it.

Wink

I still have dreams about jolie's looks in croft.

The films I love best are those that live on the boundaries of popular culture. For me this is the apogee of what is essentially mass medium.

yeah you like to pick a film that the mass audience watches and compare it very randomly with hamlet.

I thought clambiter gave a very good analysis of the connection to Hamlet.

Besides, Elsinore, Gotham....they both have "O's" Batman's mansion is a lot like a castle. Batman's father was killed by the bad guy, who meant to marry his mother but shot her instead.

The myth created about the Indian director on the NYT's forum was good, but went on too long.

no I think he's racist. I met a few in britain and they are mostly sneering fake racists who need to be shown their real place in the universe.

usually, a woman is responsible for the chip on their shoulders.

BUT there is no mansion in "The Dark Knight" and very little family history.
What about O-phelia??

Have you seen the movie yet, Gary...or are you operating on Winnipeg psychic time (WPT)?

Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy II is a wild ride. Visually arresting and proceeding at break-neck speed, it does not drag as comics hero movies do for me after the first 15 minutes. I do not know if I want to see anymore of these fairy tales for adults, but this one is as good a way to kill 110 minutes as any.

Gary and Seagull,

It's off topic. Please take it Behind the Curtain if the issue must be addressed at all (hint: it doesn't have to be).

Of course, I know that...but in "The Dark Knight" he has had a change of heart and life. About as much like _Hamlet_ as Obama is like Paris Hilton.

MINOR SPOILAGE:

He has become a very dark soul with a lot of self doubt. "To be, or not to be??"
