You win. You are not really interested in discourse, just pathetic points' scoring and whatever the cyber equivalent is to listening to the sound of your own voice. It's not how it works here. You don't need to shout to be heard.
Palm toddy, that was strictly for the Tamil plantation workers. |

No, I was talking about the palm oil plantations in Malaysia or Malaya as it was then. |

One of my best friends is the daughter of a Bollywood studio owner. They used to film dance sequences in the back gardens and she'd watch from her balcony--which was also occasionally used in the films. Her father died a few years ago and left her lots of money but she can't bring it to the US without giving up a lot in taxes, so she's buying a condominium in India.
In the meantime, she's one of the best copy editors I know. (And until I met her, I thought that was one job that couldn't be outsourced...) |

go to kerala and buy some from the guy that climbs the palm tree.
you collect palm nectar(never found it in the US.) and ferment it in yiest(the locals just use older toddy to ferment) and its fresh after a week.of burying in your backyard. there are additives I wouldn't recommend and its possible to filter it but I'm macrobiotic in that reapect and the toddy never lasts long enough anyway so I advise against. |

I don't know the name of the Bollywood studio her father owned, unfortunately--I only know her married name. Her husband is a Columbia University professor and their son graduated from Princeton last year and works at Smith Barney. A smart family, obviously. |
