Yes.
Double Yes.
I used to get hot and bothered by Brendan Fraser when he was a hunk, but then he turned doughboyish and lost hair.
[I think this re-make may have possibly been inspired by the indie fave "The Descent."] |

This remake was probably inspired by Indiana Jones and all the other computer graphics films that made piles of money. |

Brendan Fraser can be decorative, but the movie looks dreadful. |

I will, I don't promise that I'll like it, I dislike about 80% of the films I watch. One reason I didn't become a professional cheerleader... um...reviewer. |

Mo: As you felt/feel about Brendan Fraser, so I felt/feel about Christian Slater. I was arguing with a friend recently about Shia LeBoeuf--my friend thinks he's interesting and "ethnic," I can barely tell him from every other teen onscreen. I brought up Slater to illustrate--a kid with edges. (He's lost most of them now, but a few still showed when I saw him onstage in London last January.) |

far be it my place to intrude a discussion about men, specially men whove lost their edge(and that strikes one where one is somewhat sensitive these days), but Shia le bouf's ethnic? He looks like an Abercrombie ad.
Wilmer Valderrama might be..construed as.. |

He is 'ethnic'. I agree. But the one thing that distinguishes from a lot of actors around his age is that he can actually act! |

I'm thinking of sneaking off and seeing it when Nancy and mo aren't looking. Possibly with a double feature of Kit Kittredge.
Although what I'm really looking forward to is Igor. |

I thought that was a prerequisite. You need the urge to seek out the remaining 20%. |

Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D IMAX I'll probably go to see it.
I saw Wanted today. What a stupid movie. And what made it so stupid wasn't the ridiculous plot, which didn't have to be a bother, but the movie seems to take itself seriously. Some good outrageous action scenes, though I found the one at the very beginning the best of the lot. Jolie is not annoying or anything, but she is just not convincing in the that kind of role, that they keep giving her. I always think, "Why don't they give Tia Carrera those parts?" She has a great personality, is wry, and can actually act the part.
I wasn't expecting much more than a mindless 90 minutes of enjoyable action visuals, but it was less than what I was expecting or hoping for. The lead guy's story was kind of an intriguing contrast to the other parts, but that didn't last. |

It's a really solid thriller that I quite liked. |
