Isn't "Where Is My Mind?" the perfect ending song for Fight Club?? Makes me wanna put the DVD in and watch the last chapter.
Check out that link I posted, ehle. It's got a lot of cool info out there... including some EPS I never knew existed.
And to be honest, I've not seen Fight Club yet. I know... and what's really bad is I own in on DVD... right next to A.I. (which I've seen as well but have been meaning to). Of course, now that I know "Where Is My Mind?" is in that movie, i've gotta make time to see it now. |

If I remember their sound, it's kinda of heavy with a Soundgarden-like sound. They played Ozzfest one year, so that may give you some idea of their genre. |

Thanks for the luck, soozala... got the tix already.
That link I posted a few posts ago has a link to pre-order tickets for the show.
$50 bucks per ticket later (HOLY SHIT!!), I'm on the 11th row.. so pretty psyched. |

| I saw The Datsuns in Liverpool last week. The Soundgarden comparisons are good; wasn't familiar with their material but they are a live act which likes to rock. They found a receptive audience, I was impressed. |

From New Zealand, but yeah. Instead of taking from Joy Division, Television, Talking Heads, or The Velvets, these guys look to Bad Company, AC/DC, and Nazereth for inspiration. I'm not a big fan. When I first heard the record, I recommended it to Brownstone. Dunno if he ever followed up on my recommend or not, but I'm still like 98% sure he'd dig 'em. |

Speaking of recommends, did anybody bother hearing that new Rilo Kiley that I spoke of a few days ago? The album kinda drags at the halfway point, especially that song where the guitar guy attempts to sing and the other one that sounds like Patsy Cline, but it's high points are pretty damned lofty. Jenny Lewis' voice is extraordinary. I'd listen to chick sing the Farmer's Almanac if it were on record, but I'd much rather hear her sing "and you're not happy but you're funny/ and i'm tripping over my joy
i just keep getting up again/ we could be daytime drunks if we wanted."
If you go here you can listen to the first three tracks. I'd suggest you do so. Then afterwards buy the record.

| Has anyone seen that there is a new movie about the Ramones out this weekend. The times said it was better than the movie about that other band...I forget the name and it says they started doing their thing in '74. I grew up were they were from and I don't remember them from that early. |

This got mentioned by me before, but just thought I would post it from a news story today.

Crow and company were added to the Vote for Change tour, which boasts a lineup of artists including Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews Band. The musicians will perform in an array of combinations at some 38 shows in 32 cities over the course of 12 days in October, concert promoters announced Thursday.
Money generated from the concerts will go to America Coming Together (ACT), which promises on its Web site to "derail the right-wing Republican agenda by defeating George W. Bush." The shows will play in election swing states. They'll be presented by MoveOn PAC, the electoral arm of the liberal interest group MoveOn.org.
While some of the performing musicians are accustomed to expressing political views, many are new to the arena. Dave Matthews earlier told The Associated Press: "It's the first time Bruce and the E Street Band ever stood up and made a clear political statement. This is the first time we've ever stood as a band, unified, and said we want a change."
The Vote for Change tour makes it clear that by purchasing tickets, concertgoers are making a federal political contribution to ACT.
"The excitement about this tour is fantastic," says Ellen Malcolm, president of ACT. "This is really going to help give us the resources to talk to millions of voters. The artists have an ability to talk about the issues with groups of voters who don't often listen to politicians."
