"The song which plays at the start of the movie, as well as during the ending credits is an Indian song composed by Indian musician 'A.R Rahman' called "Chaiyya Chaiyya". This song was originally used in Dil Se.. (1998)."
Song or score, I don't know. No reason why we both can't remind people of it. |

Okay:
Best Score:
Dreamgirls
Inside Man
Something New
Thanks, yambu. I was considering the score anyway, but reminding me of the song put it over.
It just occured to me that I saw a second documentary last year. Dave Chappelle's Block Party is a documentary. I just didn't like it.
So:
Documentary:
An Inconvenient Truth. |

Is there anywhere to get a list of documentaries released in 2006? |

Best Documentary
Wordplay
Who Killed The Electric Car
Why We Fight
Honorable mention:An inconvenient truth - an important film but I wish Gore hadn't kept referring to his personal stuff - its nitpicky but I thought it detracted a bit from the film
Best Score
(I have to say I really suck at choosing this - most of the time I barely notice it unless its bad and/or distracting)
Last King of Scotland
Inside Man
Children of Men |

Am suspecting that this year the bulk of my noms will be for the great pleasure of participating in Blanchesteria and inviting derision at home and abroad more than making the ballot, unless time constraints permit me to see a passel of films sooner than I've hitherto been able to. Wayeh kewel. Heigh ho, anomalous life.
Edited for the sheer joy of seeing this addendum. It's the little things. |

I remember liking some Irish trad and rock in The Departed, so I give it a nom for Best Score. That and Inside Man.
This was not a year for any one memorable score. In fact, I can't think of one in recent years that stands out, except that I did like all the singing in Good Night & good Luck. |
