That's a very good guess, and it may be on the banned list. But it is not the film I'm looking for.

oooh, what was that really good Amnesty picture about the female prisoner and the torture she was put through?? I think it was Madeleine Stowe and Alan Rickman, based on a two-person play???

What a shitty attempt at an answer Embarassed

I never heard of that film. Sounds interesting. That's not it either. The film I'm looking for is a classic.

Ehle, are you thinking of Death and the Maiden, the Polanski one where torture victim Sigourney Weaver believes her guest, Ben Kingsley, was her torturer years ago?

Great movie, by the way. I'm still not as convinced about the ending as others are. Can't get into it more without major spoilage.

I really liked Death and the Maiden, though it cleans up the ending in a way the play didn't. Still, that's not the film either.

Not Death and The Maiden, a film and play that I love. I even wrote a long review of it back before a NYTFF purge of the beloved Polanski forum. I might have saved it in Word if you're interested.

For pokra, and anyone else who's interested, Closet Land:

Ehle,

If you post yours in the Reviews forum, I'll post mine if I can find it. Gads, I LOVED that Polanski forum!

Marilyn,

Patton
Mutiny on the Bounty

Is the reviews section for any film? I thought it was just an offshoot of Current Toodles.

Well, hell, I don't know, Ehle. Better ask Lorne. I thought it was for any reviews we wanted to showcase.

Not Patton or Mutiny on the Bounty. The film is not American.

I'll have to look for Closet Land. It sounds interesting. And I'll watch almost anything with Alan Rickman in it.
