Actually, I didn't lose any money in Vegas. I don't play; I am all too conscious, every time I hit the spin button on the slot machine, just how much I have lost and the odds of ever winning it back. My wife, on the other hand....

I just go for the drive between Wickenburg and Wikieup.

Screenplay votes received for:

trish, inlareviewer, melody, whiskeypriest, befade, ghulam, marantz, Jeremy, kate, migrun, syd, marj, chillywilly, billyweeds

Missed I anyone did? Planning to vote is anyone still?

Backwards run sentences until reels the mind.

Oops, I've still got some voting to do.

And I don't have votes from Jeremy or Marc.

I also want to thank Melody. Not only did she do a great job and reminded all the tabulators what and where to send their winners, she reposted the nominees and almost every page. That made it so much easier for everyone.

Melody! You're the greatest.

By the way, why only four supporting actresses?

I just got called in to do a one-shifter and have no idea how long it's for. Soooo, I may be a little late with the winner.

There was about a five-way tie for the fifth spot, there was a clear break between the top four and the rest vis-a-vis number of votes, and Mirgun and I decided not to go with a runoff.

I loved coordinating the nominating and voting process this time around. I know it was a bit haphazard with all the simultaneous nominating (due to time constraints), but I trust we got everything sorted out to most everyone's satisfaction.

Don't forget, Tabulators, send your winner to Lshap as soon after 11:59 p.m. tonight as you can so he can get started on the Blanche presentation. Thanks again!

Hat's off to Marj, whose wisdom and beauty are legendary and whose advice has kept me on the straight & narrow. This place wouldn't run without her, take it from me!

Why are we announcing the winners so far in advance of the Academy Awards?
I'm abiding by the timeline, but don't understand why we scheduled this the way we did. Sorry, it's just dawning on me.

We aren't announcing the winners. I believe we are getting the winners to lshap now so he can prepare his typically excellent Blanche Show, scheduled for the day before the boring routine of the Oscar telecast.
