Of course you don't know what was actually in the syringe . . .

Well now Bill Gates knows where to find Billy, and George Soros can target him with his space laser if that becomes necessary to the Plan. I learn a lot from reading The Gateway Pundit.

Aside to Gromit: That website I mentioned has crashed, last Wednesday. Without telling us, the owner had sold it a couple years ago to some fraudulent company in PA that was running a Ponzi scheme that promised "website development." SEC seized it, all the company's assets are in receivership, and it's been shut down until it's sold in a liquidation auction. If some of us can create a new site, with another domain, you will be invited to join.

A wee joke, referencing the conspiracy theory that Bill Gates was using a vaccine to inject tracking devices in the population.

I think the Jewish space laser theory was promoted by that loony congressperson in Georgia who's so fond of Qanon crap.

But wear your mirror-hat, just in case.

Anyone seen The Kominsky Method. Saw a couple eps last night, enjoyed more than I expected for what is a near-deluge of old codger jokes. Michael looks more like Kirk with each passing year. I've noticed that generally, that men look more like their fathers as they age, even if they started out looking more like Mom.

Definitely an endless slow trickle of urologist jokes.

I liked the jokes and vignettes built around Sandy's acting class, the young aspiring actors whose artistic experiments can go terribly wrong. I generally dislike sitcoms, so guess it says something I've watched a season of this.

"I'll say one thing for Indian casinos: they have excellent water pressure. "

I know Alan Arkin's character is a stereotype, but used to good effect. Generally, I feel Arkin has always made one-note acting a positive feature.

Watched one season, it might be enough.

In other news, China is having an outbreak of Delta variant. 300 cases spread throughout a few provinces. Seems an infected Russian air crew member left virus behind and Chinese plane cleanup crew caught it. This in Nanjing. Then it spread among their family/friends/contacts. And some of them traveled.
China's done a fantastic containment job. But it's hard to stop every infection. And this more contagious delta variant is especially worrisome. I'm not sure what the vaccinated rate is in China, but I'd guess 50% or so. And unclear how effective the China vaccines are against the Delta variant. So after over a year of almost normalcy, China is in some danger. The airports ad borders are really hard to effectively seal. So mass testing and some lockdowns where the virus has spread. Along with tracing, measures can stop/eliminate the virus.

700,000 people converged on my hood, the Black Hills, for the Sturgis Rally, soon to be a superspreader event for the delta variant. The US has just reached 100,000 new cases per day, mostly delta, thanks to the vax hesitant and the mask scoffers and public officials like Ron "Shit-for-a-Brain" DeSantis and Kristi "Trump's Lap Dog" Noem. (glad I got my Moderna shots, with only a little knot in my deltoid and a touch of sore throat. Wife got Pfizer, so we say we're a mixed marriage...)

Happy birthday all you felines, and IIRC Weedster is diving into a cake today.

I hear the messenger RNA vaxes are some protection against delta, and because of how they are designed, can be upgraded much faster than the old-school simian adenovirus vector vaxes like the J&J. So if a mutant strain proves to be overcoming a vax like Moderna's, it will be easier to fast track a booster that's mutant specific. Good luck to China with their outbreak, which looks pretty tame from where I'm sitting as the Harleys rumble past, bearing their porcine lovers of "freedom. " BTW, have heard that today, being 8/8, is considered very lucky in Chinese folklore.

The Messenger RNA vaccine protects against severe infections of variant delta and lowers the risk of transmission. The antibodies kill it off pretty quickly. My guess is that it temporarily overwhelms the antibodies.

Yeah, sounds like even the JandJ is pretty good at protecting against serious delta infections.

This, from epidemiologist Larry Brilliant, is a pretty good summary of where the world is right now, in dealing with the pandemic. The hope is that, if we add more greek letters, they won't be super variants that blast through the vaccines.

Film recommendations? Andromeda Strain, Outbreak, Contagion?

After all these months, the Republican pushed Arizona audit widened BIDEN's margin by about 400 votes. It only wasted $6 million. Apparently Trump is talking about looking for fraud in Texas. At this rate, a recount would turn the state Democratic.

Yeah it was a highly partisan newbie audit firm. They not only couldn't find much of anything in the way of errors or anything that would boost Trump. But they didn't seem to understand the vote counting methods and laws in AZ. So normal things they characterized as suspicious. Worse other states are also doing similar partisan audits of Dem strongholds. It's really just a mechanism to keep grievances and partisan anger at a high level. While keeping Trumpism in the news. It's likely also a big GOP fundraising grift.
