I think leaving Redacted off the list of De Palma movies is a very bad idea. It's his most recent film and one of his most talked-about and controversial. What prompted that idea, Marc?

Just one more thing about the bocce debacle. I opened it up to him again when I got home from the hospital and was playing catch-up.

Thanks marc for taking over, just let me know when you want me to set up the forum.

Peace.

8 for De Palma.

waiting to hear from syd, gary, billy, mo, lorne. wade, nancy, whiskey, ghulam, daffy, rod, melody, chilly and the rest of the gang.

Count me in. I need to participate here more often. And it's been a long time since I've seen Body Double and Scarface, two DePalma films I've liked.

billy,

I edited the De Palma list to what I think is manageable number of films. But, I'll gladly include REDACTED.

I just reread and saw that Obsession is not on dvd and will not be included. I loved that film and watched it many times. I think I tried to buy it once......I'm sad.

I think you are the only two people I've encountered (or even read in print) who liked Obsession. I remeber catching it on television, being excited about a De Palma I hadn't seen...and then just being bored, so bored.

I'm wondering if cable channels like IFC and/or Sundance will be showing any of the films in the near future. I think I'll see if their schedules are available. I remember the Polanski forum we did, and being able to watch some of the more obscure films on one of the cable channels. That really made it convenient.

Make that three people who like Obsession. It's one of the very few Hitchcock homages that I think work on their own. And Genevieve Bujold is, as usual, amazingly talented and amazingly sexy.

OBSESSION is De Palma's homage to VERTIGO and it does stand on its own.

I'd watch it just to see her. She just wasn't in that many films. Coma of course......and Twins......which was a little like Sisters.

Bernard Herrmann also wrote the score to Obsession and did a fascinating riff on his own Vertigo music.
