We've literally been discussing a new discussion forum for weeks now. It does seem we've lost our mojo if having your mojo means getting shit done. At this point, its comical. How many are there left in here, 20? I can understand having a hard time arriving at a consensus if there were hundreds of participants, but 20? Any casual visitor to this site would find our group ridiculously dysfunctional when it comes to making a simple decision.
There was no agreement as far as I can recall that De Palma was the new topic. It was suggested. bocce offered to moderate.....and then nothing. Nancy, befade and Lissa have all expressed a distaste for De Palma (too scary, I guess). And I can't recall anybody other than joe, bocce and me getting on the De Palma bandwagon. bocce is now gone.
so, whats it gonna be?
And Joe, I've been doing my best to try to keep the idea of a new discussion
alive. Frankly, there just doesn't seem to be all that much interest.

| I'd actually love the excuse to see (finally) Scarface, Wise Guys and Body Double - never saw them, believe it or not. But not Carrie or Dressed to Kill - definitely too scary. |

Re the bit I underlined: I also expressed interest in a De Palma forum. I've stated twice before that I was surprised to learn that bocce had left the group. I had simply assumed that he had been using his time to research the De Palma forum he volunteered to moderate. I had no idea that he was waiting for all of us to sing hosannas to the announcement, nor that he would take his toys and go play with someone else if he didn't get those hosannas.
Re the bit I bolded: I disagree. A handful of people here have expressed interest in "the idea of a new discussion." Now we're caucusing to decide which topic it will be. Be patient. It's getting there. |
