Fair enough. I'll give it a chance. |

Brownie, I wasn't excusing Marc. By the way, I never saw the post that pissed you off. I must have been on the road. |

Marilyn, the hourly NOW lst week seemed to be related to the special on African health issues. This week it is back to 1/2 hour. |

Yes, I know. But it seems that there are more "special" NOW shows. In general, my PBS station seems to be more public-service oriented than it has in a while. |

I don't pay much attention to it anymore. We just log in and out. I have noticed a huge uptick in the number of times Cash in the Attic airs on BBC America, though. Shane and I are totally addicted to it. |

Marantz:
You should check them out sometime - there was a series of them in rapidfire succession. They're pretty funny in retrospect, but at the time they were shockingly awful, not in a "I have no defense for this type of blitzkrieg" way, but in a "Jesus, this is irredeemable vitriol, why am I even associating myself with this type of place?"
They were especially personal in nature considering marc's response was to me laughing at a joke lorne had made at censored's expense - yet lorne himself escaped marc's "wrath."
Over time I realized, mostly through lorne's emails and then a completely unrelated phone message from billy about his Jersey show (the phone message is what actually prompted my return), that it was silly of me to let a couple of emotionally irresponsible shitheads deprive me of the pleasure, insight and comraderie so many of you have provided.
It's telling that I returned with an affable, if not very amusing, joke, and made every attempt to smoothly return to the fora without a whole lot of fuss and just begin discussing appropriate topics (I'm amazed Blockbuster doesn't carry The Great Train Robbery - they don't even have a pre-WWI section!), and the good mood was spoiled immediately upon marc's re-entry.
I honestly don't understand why the rest of you guys tolerate his posts. There's almost a fearfulness in challenging his poison, which I find funny in that I was going to initially observe that more and more marc resembles the snobby video store clerk from the Simpsons, constantly ridiculing the character of others based on their respective entertainment vices.
I withheld this observation when I realized it wasn't a very creative perception; after all, marc IS a snobby video store clerk, complete with goatee & ponytail. Worst. Hippie. Ever.
I'm really happy to be back; so don't worry Marilyn, I ain't goin' anywhere. Gary, I'll try to avoid the pointless firefights henceforth and stay focused on the purpose of this site: enjoying arts and entertainment and the inter-related bullshit that comes with it.
Everyone have a good night. |

Marantz,
I find the idea laughable. that Mr. B should lighten up because Marc appologized. Because I apologized, like, three times for my last blowup with Marc and he won't still let go of the hate. And Mr. B isn't displaying anything like vitriol.
Marc sees what he wants, and the only way he'll be gone is when Lorne follows his wish to remove him from the site. I don't care one way or another. It's very easy to ignore him. |

This is hysterical and very telling. I sure as shit can't believe all of the on-line "camaraderie" and the off-line, e-mailing, instant messaging, telephone calling backstabbing. Stab away. What twats! |

...and it's the biggest reason why not too many new people seem to want to join. |
