I hesitate to post this, but this might be the best audience for it...

I had brunch today with a couple of friends, and we were talking about politics and political correctness. One of the guys told us that he has a friend who did pollling before the election. At one house, he asked the woman who came to the door if she would tell him which candidate she favored. She told him to wait a minute, she'd ask her husband. She disappeared upstairs, then returned. "We're voting for the nigger," she told him.

Ah, the Republicans really didn't know what they were up against.

carrobin: That reminds me of the Sarah Silverman routine on how to get out of jury duty.

It does sound like a Sarah Silverman bit. But I have to admit, I jumped when I first read it.

We've been discussing the public option in The Lobby. I will move future discussion of this topic to this forum.

Some interesting stuff from Obama's campaign manager David Plouffe.

http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1932963-1,00.html

Seems Obama seriously considered Hillary as Veep, and had Biden, Bayh and Tim Kaine as his final 3. No wonder Biden won out.
Bayh is dull, conservative-moderate (an iffy vote on health care reform at the moment), and from the state next to Obama's. Who is Tim Kaine?
Maybe he was trying to confuse moderates who might think it was Tom Kean.

Tim Kaine's the governor of Virginia. I suspect they were contemplating him to get some southern states, but Obama carried some southern states anyway. Besides, Kaine looks funny, and, if you want a Virginia politician, you want Mark Warner.
