Thank you, Marj.

And thank you for the FB reminder. I say it a million times, but I need to be more regular here on Third Eye.

Wow. If you have a Facebook account, go here:* I don't know if Ted has to be your friend or not. If he does, send a friend request to Ted Pennella.

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2015098&id=1059798834&ref=nf

Ted has done Nancy proud. There are five pages of photos.

*If you don't have a facebook account, why don't you?

I should avoid late night postings because (for me) they tend to range from incoherent to goofy. But I couldn't sleep and discovered this memorial going on the thread and just wanted to add some thoughts.

Nancy's death got to me in a way that I find difficult to describe because she was one of the core group of posters from the old New York Times message board devoted to the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I was never a part of the NYT Film Forums. When the NYT boards cratered, several of the Buffy crew members who were also on the NYTFF mentioned that there was this place called Third Eye where the Film people were regathering and the TV people were going there as well.

So that original gang of Buffy fans was my connection/entry to this place, which I cherish. Now part of that connection is gone and it seems I didn't appreciate it well enough before.

Joe mentioned that she was a "positive life force" and that's so true. Nancy continues to be missed.

Wow is right, Syd - and no, you posted the link to the album which means that not only non-FB-friends of Ted's can see it, but anyone not on FB can also access the photos.

I LOVE the hindu cats!! And the "boy wizard" (c'mon, we all know who he is Wink ) is nothing short of spectacular...

Thanks, Syd, and please thank Ted from me?

Paul Cherry is collecting photographs of Nancy: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v321/ScooterOKC/Memories%20of%20Nancy/

I still haven't found the non-Digital photographs I have, one of which has Nancy holding one of my previous cats.

It's great to see images of her laughing and kicking back. Also great to find out what you look like, Syd. Hope you can get some SCA photos up, too. Plus, I love the rubber duck centerpiece and picture of Nancy's boyfriend.

James Berardinelli's started a project of posting reviews of all the Best Picture winners in chronological order. So far he's up to Wings Cool .

The best pictures up to the end of the Pre-Code era are:

Wings (production) and Sunrise (artistic production)
The Broadway Melody
All Quiet on the Western Front
Cimarron
Grand Hotel
Cavalcade
and
It Happened One Night, which came out in February 1934, which is still in the Pre-Code era and has bare breasts, but they're Gable's.

Whether they have pre-Code elements is another matter. I'd say Grand Hotel does, and apparently there's a moment in Wings where you can see Clara Bow's breasts. (I've seen the film several times and don't remember that.) I've never seen All Quiet on the Western Front, Cimarron and Cavalcade.

All Quiet on the Western Front is terrific. Don't think it has any pre-code stuff though.
