Nancy, Please try harder?

Lorne -- As always you've out done yourself again this year. The poster is stunning!

I see a wee problem. We have both adapted and original screenplays to vote for but only one tabulator. Is Syd doing both? or has someone been left out?

My understanding is that Syd is counting both kinds of screenplay, so he should be sent both votes.

And I'll keep looking for those chocolate Blanches.

I'm doing both. I was given the option to split the screenplay into adapted and original, and did so. Either pm or e-mail's fine.

Mo hasn't sent me her vote for Original Screenplay, just Adapted. She gets another vote.

By the way, the original score of No Country for Old Men is 16 minutes of music. That includes Buddhist Bells. singing bells, and music over the closing credits. This is what is called a minimalist score.

Excuse me, but I couldn't help noticing that No Country for Old Men has received a nomination in the Best Score category. To paraphrase Roger Clemens, I think people maybe have "misremembered" or "misheard" something in the movie that wasn't there. Because I don't recall that the movie had a score. Wasn't this a deliberate choice by the Coen Bros, to make the movie with no music at all?

If this is the case, would it be possible to delete that nominee and replace it with whichever film finished sixth in the voting for that category?

Nope. People didn't misremember or mishear. We deliberately voted for a score which used very little music. (Not none.)
I look at it as a way to honor the entire sound design of the movie, of which the minimalistic score was a very important part - both where it was present and where it wasn't present.

By the way, I'm going to be about an hour late to the ceremony. Don't do anything important without me.

The tough one for me was Best Sup. Actor. With 6 nominees and most of them ones I liked, it was very hard to choose.

My votes for Supporting Actress and Actor are still sitting in my outbox. Maybe they don't go to the Sent box out until somebody reads them?
