Ohhh, I'd probably add "Lawrence of Arabia" someplace in there. |

No time right now to make a list. But I'm really happy to see A Woman Under the Influence make a showing. |

The lists I've seen so far are very impressive. I feel as if there are a few movies I'd like to see again before adding or discarding them from the list I'm working on. But as that would take forever, I will be posting my list sometime tomorrow. |

"The Scent of Green Papaya" was (I believe) a Vietnamese-American's first film shot in Vietnam. It subtly captures the quiet sounds and colors of this faraway place.
It is a very beautiful film. When I tried to buy it awhile ago, it had become an expensive collector's item. |

What's the logic behind limiting yourself to one film per director? If the priority was to pay homage to 50 great directors, then fine, but we're assessing the best overall package, the films, regardless of who directed them, acted in them or composed the score.
You, Lorne, can make your list how you see fit. I will make mine as I see fit. |

Whatever. I strongly second Lorne's question. |

I will probably ration myself in someways in order to produce a wider more eclectic or slightly less whitebread list. For instance, though I could easily opt for both The Godfather Pt I & II, I will be probably be content to represent the trilogy with the film I think is the best. |

This exercise is driving me nuts. At 3 in the morning I was lying in bed thinking of all the movies I'd seen and the directors I didn't want to leave out and the actors I didn't want to leave out and finally I started writing down titles on a pad.......in the dark.
Please.......let's bring this to an end......SOON |
