You make a good point, Marc. I'm pretty certain that Chinatown would be a big hit (Nicholson still has box office power, and it's the rare 70's classic that the "average" person tends to have seen and liked). But you and Billy are probably right about All the President's Men.

Compared to Zodiak now, everything Nixon-related was hot in 1970's.

Mark Ruffalo is going to do Inside the Actor's Studio this Monday, March 19th, on Bravo. Check your local listings for showtimes. He only gets an hour while Chris Rock and Diana Ross both got two. *sigh* Not that I don't like those two, but, gee whiz.

Don't worry. On Inside the Actors Studio, there's never any quality discussion, anyway. An extra hour wouldn't have helped.

Well, inappropriate forum aside, I beg to differ. Chris Rock's two hours were full of insights from a very talented person. There was one Freudian Slip he had while speaking of his Father that will stay with me forever. Just because Lipton has turned into the caricature Will Ferrell portrayed him as on SNL does not belittle the program for some of us.

The fact is that no matter how insightful the guests may be, they are all diminished by being in the company of that ass Lipton. I don't think there is a truly stupider person on television--with the exception of Ann Coulter. I'd rather have Paula Abdul as the host of Inside the Actors Studio than that sycophantic brown-nosing idiot James Lipton.

That said, I will certainly not boycott the show this Monday. Ruffalo is da bomb!

Often Lipton's smugness can be to hard to take and I'm not sure how much is to be gained by talking to young actors just embarking on their careers. However, occassionally, a guest rise above it and can be genuinely illumimating. I remember Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley being very good and Ian McKellen was totally in his element.

Four, Mr. Weizenheimer. You forgot the woman with the baby. An old Philadelphia expression: "And who, if anyone, don't know THAT?"

You're right. The baby. SPOILER

But that wasn't definitely Zodiac, right? The other three were.

Conclusive DNA exclusion, no fingerprint match, no handwriting match. Some prime suspect.

David Denby can be quite awesome:
Quote:
Fincher has changed direction. The creator of the nutty, sub-fascist “Fight Club” and the dumb fright movie “Panic Room” has suddenly devoted himself to (of all things) manners and jurisdictional niceties—the way people talk to one another in a newspaper office, the hassles over evidence between the police of one city and those of another. He has discovered the everyday working world, and he’s fascinated by its moods and small tensions, its endless give-and-take.

I too noted the remarkable evolution of Fincher.

FIGHT CLUB is the best American movie of the nineties. The notion that Fincher
has only recently achieved greatness with ZODIAC is bullshit.
