This discussion began on December 1st. I expected it would take about two weeks. And up until recently it appeared that it was winding down.
However I never close our discussions. Occasionally one will have a thought or two many months later and I like to leave the discussions open so that they can post.
Feel free to revisit Pnin after the holidays if you so chose. If not we will finish up, if that's OK with everyone else. |

I'm late to the party. I loved Pnin, but felt I had nothing to add here. Where Lolita is for me a skyrocket or brutal humor, Pnin is a modest and beautiful little candle giving off a warm illumination.
I love the cover illustration at Wikipedia, whiskey. It looks like a Dedini cartoon from PLAYBOY-- I have nothing but compassion for the sad sacks who bought it thinking they'd get to learn all about the pert coeds on the cover (instead of the confused-looking older gent in the rear). |
