Time to trim the fat. Let's close Frears and Zodiac and decide on a new forum.

Have we done a "noir" forum?

I think we did one, maybe back in the NYT days. We still haven't done the topic that you (Marc) and I wanted, Movies that had an affect on our lives (or something along that line).

Yeah, about three years ago. Also did forums on silent movies, science fiction, westerns and exploitation films. I thought we'd done one on musicals but I can't find it.

When it has come up in the past, we seemed to be the only ones who thought so.

Not only did we do it, Marc, you opened it then Gary moderated it.

Sounds like The Anecdote Forum to me.

yeah, well, ordinarily i wouldn't have a problem with that. but realistically, you've only got about twenty contributing members here. even if five films had dramatically (no pun intended) impacted their lives, that only multiplies out to 100 comments. add in 100 more responses and that still makes for a short topic...

we had some success with 90s FILMS as a forum topic. why not try the other decades as individual fora???

and, howdy, this makes post #116 for this 15 month old marathon to nowhere...

We've done silents. How about early sound films, say before 1935? Especially pre-code?

I always thought we pretty much went through that ("movies that changed my life") in about two days when we were talking about possible forums once.

Precode would be a lot of fun, and quite a bit is available at least through Netflix, etc.
