Jamie Foxx and Naomie Harris(?) in the current Miami Vice. But, yeah, the exception. |

Hmmmm, I found those two to have, like, zero chemistry. While everyone is saying that Farrell and Li didn't have any, I thought that they did. OTOH, I really enjoy Naomie Harris, we recognized her from 28 Days Later at Miami Vice and then that night I watched Tristram Shandy and there she was again. Completely different role. Completely cute, Fassbinder-loving film buff, assistant to Steve Coogan. (in the movie) My friend was telling me she also has a role in TPOTC sequel. |

Thanks Ehle, you save me the trouble of saying it. |

Whiskey and Marj,
The story about the writers not being able to figure out who killed the chauffer is a fable. I know Bacall still tells it, but it's a fable. Scripts exist that quite easily cleared up the murder, along the lines of what can be assumed from Chandler's novel.
It was part of Huston's big publicity for the movie that he "couldn't make sense of it." There's a great article that quotes the scripts and deals with how the adaptation is handled called "Who Cares Who Shot Owen Taylor?" collected in the book The Modern American Novel and the Movies. |

ehle: Harris plays the voodoo woman girlfriend in the recent POTC movie, which she carries over to the next POTC. So she's been one busy lady. |

Oh Billy... I found this scene dreadfully awkward and unsexy. The main problem is that it happens so early in the film that we do not have any context with which to empathize with a sexual relationship. It felt more detached to me than most porn. |

Okay, I admit that the main reason I loved this scene was one line which to quote would be a spoiler, but you know which one I'm talking about. It's funny and hot. |

I thought Farrell and Gong also had terrific chemistry. |
