Billy, so why were you giving me flack for not seeing Brokeback Mountain because it didn't interest me?

First of all, I don't think I ever personally gave you any such flack. But even if I had, please reread my quote. I will bold the important part: "I go to the theater to see only movies..." etc. I see all other movies of importance (and certainly Brokeback qualifies) on DVD. My feeling from all your posts and comments is that you never ever intend to see Brokeback Mountain. Right?

Because secretly in our heart of hearts, we know you are really interested in it!

Wink

Oh my god, you're right. I'm in deep denial.

Right Billy, I don't intend to see it, at home or otherwise. So? Is there some sort of obligation to see every film that is supposed to be important?
And I watch very few films on tape or dvd, I like to see them in the theatre. For me that's important.

Sioux,

They don't get registered as sent until they are opened by the recipient.

I think all that will, have voted - but just so you know - I won't be up counting at midnight my time (PST). So the deadline for Best Film is 10pm PST. Hope that does not screw anyone - which I don't think will.

I'm on PST as well. I'll be sending in my Best Director results before midnight. i'm not aware of anyone out here who has not already voted. So i'll also say, my deadline is 10:00pm, PST.

I've had 23 people vote for Screenplay, which beats last year's number -- 20. Of course, last year we had Marilyn, Joker, Charles and Merlot voting, too.

I got a late email vote from Cindy Roth -- don't know her, but she's bound to be a Third Eyer since she had my email. I think.

Sioux -- I'm not a counter but so I shouldn't receive a PM. One way or the other, I didn't receive one.

I take that back. Not that I'm a counter but that I didn't receive a PM from Sioux.

I saw very few current films last year and cannot participate in most of the categories.

I'm in the same boat. I wanted to participate this year, but I've seen very few of the current movies. In some categories, I couldn't even give three nominations (sometimes because I hadn't seen even three movies in that category, sometimes because even if I'd seen more, nothing really resonated in my mind as a "best").

Cindy Roth is Mrs. Lshap.

And by the way, I have no idea why she choose that name rather than the dozen funnier, more clever names she comes up with almost daily.
