The Upside Of Anger must have no leading actors whatsoever if Kevin Costner's role is considered to be a supporting one. |

I consider Costner a lead in THE UPSIDE OF ANGER. But, the "industry" does not. Should we be using "industry" standards for our catagories? |

As long as we're on the same page in here I don't care whether Costner's considered Best Supporting actor or Best Has-Been in a Comeback Role.
At least in the Supporting category he has a chance of winning, verses his snowball's chance in Taos if he was up for Best Actor against the awesome competition. |

Are we to consider Jake Gyllenhaal for the supporting actor category? I personally say yes (the movie's main focus was on Ledger, I think) and seemingly so does the "industry", but I know there was been some Third Eye dispute over this. |

Lorne,
At least that was the way I was thinking when I nominated Costner in the Supporting Category slot. I wasn't thinking at all about the 'industry.' |

I've always considered Jake the supporting actor with Heath as lead actor.
As for Costner, imdb.com and the movies list of credits shows Joan Allen before Coster. "Industry" has always took that to mean whoever was listed first was the lead actor/actress and if the other that was listed was a male actor, he would be considered supporting, regardless of being the only male.
That's just a pattern I've noticed. |

Technically, since Jake was on the bottom he was in fact in the supporting role. |
