I think the reason Alda never made it for me in M*A*S*H was that I was such a fan of the movie (MASH sans asterisks) with Elliott Gould and Donald Sutherland. It was edgy, counter-cultural, and obscene. The television version was so politically correct by comparison that it made me puke, and Alda was the messenger.

It's a real hoot. A well-done parody of '50's SF films, including delightfully wooden dialog, and scenery is chewed. You must see it. Blaire steals the movie as Animala, a woman created from four different forest animals by an alien "transmutatron" (as I recall). Hers is definitely one of the standout performances of the year. Her "Rock Dance" is not to be missed. It's available on DVD.

By the way, for those of us who are relative newcomers to this forum, would it be possible to see the past winners of the Blanche Awards? I don't mean every category, of course. But perhaps just the Best Pictures?

Mirren was the lead in The Clearing.

Agree about Ruffalo in WDLHA, but I'm also pretty sure that Dern gave a kick-assed supporting performance in that film, so my nominee stands.

Interesting all of the nods for Carradine, I just watched Kill Bill, vol. 2 last night. It was a fun part, but seemed hella over-affected for my tastes. Sometimes hella over-affected works for me and sometimes it doesn't.

I'm having a helluva time whittling down 3 Supporting Actor noms.

QUESTION:
Was "M. Ibrahim" a 2004 or a 2003 release? Sometimes it's hard to keep track of exact release dates and correct years for foreign films.
