Nate seems to be evolving into the used boy-toy syndrome--he's quite a gorgeous hunk and the new woman he meets at the day care center is so attracted to him but just wants to fuck and forget.
He totes his diaper bag and kid around like a distressed young mom shlepping around without husband and father. I see Nate running his own day nursery out of the back of the funeral parlor and banning together with other house husbands who are tired from the rejection of heady women who just want them for their penis and then leave them unattended. Maybe Arthur will team up with him too.
You just gotta laugh at how this show tries to finger the pulse of America and capture the social consciousness of society.
Clair continues to bemuse me and I now watch the show mainly to see her! |

Nate isn't going for that boy-toy thing, he needs to be loved. I'm hoping he doesn't start bed hopping. I think he'll seek Brenda. I could be wrong.

It's the extended promo for this season, and it is awesome. I love that song!
Another HBO note: Tomorrow night, 9 p.m. Eastern time, HBO is showing Capturing The Friedmans. |

Thanks, ehle, for artist's name. And btw, when Claire syncs her part? She IS the singer...her face in this promo just does it for me, she is the consummate performer. |

Just when some folks were talking of calling it quits on SFU, the program has again come alive, and with a vengeance. It seems the last three episodes were just setting the stage for this excellent hour. Alan Ball has so many balls up in the air, all at the same time, all pretty, and all in perfect rhythm. |

That was a close call. I thought he was a goner. One of the longest continuous segments with one of the most repulsive characters one could encounter. A fine episode. |

Daffy,
Excellent article. I hope Krause does well in the difficult new role.
BTW: Glad to see that you are resisting the desires of realtors to change the name of your historic neighborhood to Chelsea. I used to work in the old McGraw-Hill building, or whatever it is called now, and got to know the neighborhood quite well.

Charles -
I've liked Krause since Sports Night (I never saw Cybil. Can you imagine Alan Ball writing for her?). Unfortunately, I haven't kept up on SFU since the first season. I hadn't known that Krause came out of NYU. I hope he does well in the Miller play; it's always good to see the on-camera folks come back to the stage and bring some new audience with them.
Actually, the new name for my neighborhood is Clinton, not Chelsea, though only the realtors call it that, and to be really honest, my street barely qualifies (I live about fifty yards from the Soup Nazi). I feel kind of sheepish saying Hell's Kitchen because it sounds like I think I'm tough or something and it's really not a bad neighborhood any more, but I love the sound of it and it ticks me off that people are trying to whitewash the area's history with a manufactured name so they can push the locals out and charge more rent. So fuck 'em, I'm saying what I want and that's the fact, Jack, if you know what I mean. |

Daffy,
Yes! Clinton, not Chelsea (which is further south). It's been a decade since I worked there and a lot has changed since then I see. All my life there was talk of cleaning up the Times Square area and nobody ever thought it would happen. But finally. Now if only the Times Square Brewery could get back to its prime location there between 7th and Broadway.
I guess we have to be happy that it is still Times Square, not Bertelsmann Square or American Airlines Square (like the American Airlines Theater, sheesh!).

OH --
My --
Gah *GASP!*
We just finished 6 Feet Under and I am totally speechless. I'm hoping that everyone else that chats about this show is too and that's why there aren't any posts addressing this powerful, powerful episode. I was shaking and crying by the end. Then the end credits in silence? Perfect. |
