Yes, yes. I'm too sensitive, by far. Just give me the instructions already and I'll sort all of this out. Do you have enough time to Moderate a 90s Forum? If not, would anyone else care to step up to the plate? |

Marc's high enough on the second list that he could do the next forum. Unless Joe wants to do one. |

clearly the Third Eye moderators don't give a shit about this particular forum.
So, exactly what is the function of a moderator? |

Yambu unceromoniously abandoned the WESTERN forum - which was a fucking insult to all of us. And not a single cocksucker in this so-called film society can grab hold of this forum and resurrect it. Lazy motherfuckers.
billy, too fucking busy watching AMERICAN IDOL. Joe, too fucking busy doing nothing. Lorne, too fucking busy not being a presence here. Hey, lets get back to discussing Tim's nipples. |

OK, I think we have a good moderator for that. Men's nipples aren't something I'm interested in, but I'm not judgemental. |

Are we talking about Western nipples or '90's nipples? |

well, it seems Joe has no interest in moderating June. Anyone else interested? Or should we just shine the specialty forums on?
I think its a shame that we seem to be incapable of making a collective decision concerning the direction of this forum. Is it apathy? Does anyone, other than me, give a shit? |

marc...
i understand your frustration. for nine years i was the instigator
/cheerleader for specialty fora (@nyt and here). whenever we lacked one, i promoted another.
i feel particularly bad about the westerns forum because i had a lot to contribute but just couldn't. rather than selling my business (which had been my intent), i ended up buying another adjucnt business. i just didn't have time to contribute and won't for some time.
i feel that yambu was put off by the general lack of response and apparent disinterest in the topic. that coupled with some other issues made his decision to go. i personally feel somewhat guilty as i let down the forum, but i agree that his just dumping it was irresponsible.
as i said i'm not going to be able to contribute much over the next few months. but the specialty fora are and will continue to be the core of any film group. best wishes on '90's films... |

Marc: You might get more response if you posted in The Lobby. People might be assuming we're talking about westerns rather than starting a new subjects.
I like the Films of the 90s idea. |

Maybe the present Western Forum's name should be changed to something like Upcoming Forum Discussion, Upcoming Forum Selections (was Westerns), etc.
I think this particular issue still belongs where it is. IMO it would tend to get lost in the Lobby. |

Instead of discussing the discussion, could we try to arrive at a consensus regarding our next topic and host. |

Goddamn, the next topic is '90's film. It's been decided. What's the problem? Change the fucking title and it's done. Is a moderator essential? As much time as you've spent telling us to pick a moderator, Marc, you moderate. I think it was you who came up with the topic to begin with. Give us four semi-broad topics of discussion, one per week for the next month. Moderation over.
Why does this have to be a major discussion? Somebody says, "Hey, how about a '90's film forum?", three of four people say, "Yo, that sounds cool!" Ok, then. Make the forum. Why vote and discuss and make this some major issue? There are like 10 of us. Four or five people wanna do something, just do it. Four of five people don't wanna do something, we don't do it. Process should take less than a day. |

shannon,
According to some list Lorne has, Joe is scheduled to moderate the June forum. I didn't want to supersede any kind of prior agreement regarding moderating this forum. I'd be happy to kick off a '90s forum, but I can't guage any level of interest. Getting a rise out of this Society is like trying to get a corpse to spring full wood. |
