The last few episodes have been great.
I vaguely remember watching the original series when I was a kid. For some reason I just haven't felt compelled to watch this version. (Not having basic cable might have something to do with that.) Does it differ in quality or tne very much from the original?
And where is this boat going that I'm always missing? No one ever tells me these things.
The similarities to the original are very very minor and frankly in terms of quality, the shows simply do not compare. It is one of the best shows on television. Time magazine had it at #1 in their top ten television list of 2005. |

| I can't say enough about Battlestar Galactica. The depth of the show is really surprising. The most obvious and frequent parallels the show draws are about the war on terror, religion, loss of freedoms during war... its a wonderfully thoughtful show with amazingly sympathetic villains. |

I too am addicted to the new Battlestar Galactica. Actually it is one of the few shows that surprises me with every episode. It took me a while to get into it and appreciate it but now the questions it brings up are so topical and yet real. |

| I'm surprised the new series of Doctor Who did not make it to American TV, it's been shown most other places in the English speaking world. It's somewhat clunky and very British, even parochially so, but it burns with a life affirming humanity. |

| I get a Canadian station so I saw it last year jeremy. Thought it was excellent and am hoping this year will prove better (even though they replaced Dr. Who - AGAIN)! |

My marks for the various episodes of Doctor Who. As you can see, it is worth sticking with, as it generally gets better as it goes on. I also recommend watching with children between the ages of seven and eleven - I haven't met one who doesn't love it.
The shows are generally character driven. Unlike most sci-fi the series overseen by chief writer Russell "Queer As Folk" Davies is more driven by its sense of humanity than ideas or effects. |

| What are you talking about? They ran a new Invasion last Wed. and there's another new one this week. The "bad seed hybrids" story is really getting into gear and I see a lot of momentum there. Plus, "Lost" can't seem to summon a new show more than twice a month, so I see a lot of lost Lost-ers tuning in for their bizaro fix. |

| Dr. Who (the recent one with Eccleston) starts this Friday at 9:00 on the Scifi Channel. I got to see it on a Canadian station and was very impressed with it. The stories were excellent. |
