Befade -- I like the suggestion. I'll be seeing the trio of shorts sometime in the near future. Can't pinpoint when.

This reminds me of a great pop song from some summer, which the kids here may never have even heard:

The male singers sing "Who wears short shorts?" The female singers answer "We wear short shorts." The guys: "They're such short shorts." The girls: "We like short shorts." The guys: "Who wears short shorts?" The girls: "We wear short shorts."

Wasn't that an old Nair commercial circa '73?

"If you dare wear short shorts/
Nair for short shorts."

Christ, what an effective jingle; I remember it decades later. Couldn't have anything to do with the leggy gals dancing around in tiny cutoffs, could it?

Not cutoffs. I know the commercial, and it is the same song, but the song predates it by about 13 years, when cutoffs were not worn, except by Daisy Mae. (Oooo, slurp....talk about moist cartoon figures.)

The broad who used to wallow with the swines was even more moist-worthy.

Was this Stupefyin' Jones as played by Julie Newmar in the 1959 film?

No, Mo, her last name was McSwine, I think. I can't remember her first name.

Ghulam or anyone else up on Indian film:
What classic Indian films would you suggest?
I'm aware of S. Ray, but still haven't got around to watching his Pather Panchali trilogy.
Down in HK, there are some Indian dvd shops, and I picked up Mother India (1957). Though now that I read that it's a remake of the director's 1940 film, I'd probably rather see the original.
Now that I've cleared the backlog of new films, I was thinking of delving into Indian film. I have a friend going to HK next month and hope I can get him to pick up a few Indian films for me.
(Btw, I'm not into musicals, so wasn't thinking about Bollywood extravaganzas, although could try something special).
