Dirk Bogarde was in THE DAMNED, not Oliver Reed.

NO, I'm talking about a movie also known as THESE ARE THE DAMNED made in 1963. Reed plays the role of KING.

Thank the imdb.com for the confusion.

Some of my favorite exploitation actors:

Dick Bakalyan
Bettie Page
Henry Silva
Jack Nicholson
Bruce Dern
Sid Haig
Elisha Cook, Jr.
Dick Miller
Trinidad Silva
Tim Carey
Lawrence Tierney
Billy Drago
Rondo Hatton
Cheryl "Rainbeaux" Smith
PJ Soles (born the day I was born)
George Zucco
J. Carroll Naish

And a thousand more-- every time I see one of these guys, I say, "Hey! It's ______!" and it makes me glad I love cheap movies.

tire,

Billy Drago is amazing in MYSTERIOUS SKIN. Perfect casting. He's so fucking evil looking that you expect the worst. Expectations defied.

I worked with Bruce Dern, Timothy Carey, Elisha Cook, Jr., and Rainbeaux Smith. Count me lucky, I guess.

BTW, I'm a big Sid Haig fan. He's in most of the Pam Grier/New World Philippine prison movies. A wonderful actor - excels in comedy & improv. Tarantino cast Grier and Haig in a scene together without telling them - so that they could have a touching reunion.
Director Jack Hill's commentaries say a lot about Sid Haig, a gifted Shakespearian actor (Pasadena Playhse.) and 6'4" Armenian from Fresno, CA!

Sid Haig was just about the only good thing in THE DEVIL'S REJECTS.

The Devil's Rejects was boring, but I thought House of 1000 Corpses was a whole lotta fun.

Out of this list, I worked with Severn Darden, Paul Bartel, and Barbara Steele.

Being around Paul Bartel was always a lot of fun. He had an amazingly twisted sense of humor. Much funnier than in his movies.

I'm waiting to see THE NOTORIOUS BETTIE PAGE, shown last fall at the Toronto Film Fest. It stars Gretchen Mol as Bettie.
