Yes, it was.
Queen of Outer Space and Attack of the 50-Foot Woman??? I think the programming director at your local TV station was a campy gay guy. |

That's what was so cool about The Holy Girl. Teenage girls trying to maintain their Catholicism while expressing their sexuality in backhanded ways. |

I also like Herman Brix's (Bruce Bennett's) Tarzan, because he was articulate. I've seen most of the Tarzans, including Jack Pierce. Should be seeing Frank Merrill in the role as soon as the post office requites me with the proper package. |

That it is. It's my favorite of the Weissmullers. |

I agree, but I think Tarzan the Ape Man is sexier, when Tarzan is first alone with Jane in the cave. Weissmuller was never sexier than in this scene. The screen scortches.
Er...in my opinion. (Have I said too much? There's nothing more I can think of to say to you.) |

Some homeviewing suggestions:
MYSTERIOUS SKIN
KONTROL
HEAD ON
NAKED
MY SUMMER OF LOVE
A BITTERSWEET LIFE
2046
I'd dig discussing any of the above. |

Haven't seen any of them, but I'll be in search of a rental or two later tonight. Thanks, I'll keep these titles in mind. I wanted to see Kontrol when it was out because I recall that you raved about it at the time and I heard some other good things about it. But it came and went too fast.
And our new moderator might grumble that you didn't include Last Days in that group above. I'll look for that one, too. |

Earl,
I have not seen LAST DAYS. After seeing ELEPHANT, I lost my taste for Van Sant movies. But, as I've said, I will eventually see it because of ehle and billy's positive comments. |

Earl,
MYSTERIOUS SKIN is a stunner. In my top 5 best films of 2005. Though it may get bumped by KING KONG or BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. |

I'm afraid I've only seen two on Hippie's list, but I'd agree that both My Summer Of Love and 2046 or worth picking up at the DVD store. |

I don't know if Elephant is a good movie, but it sure as hell was effective.
While seemingly utterly boring, you have a pit in your stomach the entire time as you sit in dread, anticipating the climax.
While I sit here wondering whether or not the film is any good while simultaneously acknowledging the tangible sensory impact it had on me, I realize I may not be qualified to qualify or quantify what a "good" movie is. |
