Ah, buck up there, laddie. What are you fixing?

Bar B Que spareribs and shoestring french fries, with cole slaw, rye bread and butter and Mateuse Rose. I'm already finished.

Thanks for asking.

CRONKITE: KARL ROVE BEHIND BIN LADEN TAPE?
Sat Oct 30 2004 16:31:19 ET

Former CBSNEWS anchorman Walter Cronkite believes Bush adviser Karl Rove is possibly behind the new Bin Laden tape.

Cronkite made the startling comments late Friday during an interview on CNN.

Somewhat smiling, Cronkite said he is "inclined to think that Karl Rove, the political manager at the White House, who is a very clever man, he probably set up bin Laden to this thing."

Interviewer Larry King did not ask Cronkite to elaborate on the provocative election eve observation.

Marc,

I believe that too. In fact, as soon as I saw bin Ladin on my TV screen, I believed that to be so.

Btw, Great interview with John Kerry on Larry King right now.

[color=blue]Okay, here goes…

It’s kind of quiet in here tonight, so this might be a good time for this…

Hi, everyone. I’ve been visiting here for several months, and for a few years over at the Times, and I thought it was time to show myself legitimately, as it were. When I was first granted a pass to join the Third Eye group, I had every intention of posting regularly. I have a hundred excuses at the ready that I could use for why I haven’t. Do you really want to hear them? I thought not. I’ll go into it if it’s important, but I’m pretty sure it’s not. The bottom line is that your online community is very important to me, as strange as that may sound coming from someone who’s never said a word to you. Over the past 5 or so years, my interest in film has grown, and there has been a real dearth of people I can find with whom to discuss in person the films that are important to me. In other words, most people I know go to see the most mainstream films, and take for granted what they are spoonfed therein. They‘d never go to a retro house or watch TCM or see anything not hawked on Jay Leno’s show. Silent films? Forget it! Not that that makes them bad people, but this can get pretty frustrating when you want to get a little more in-depth into a movie that’s off the beaten path. So, that’s how I stumbled upon you guys, over at NYTimes. I have learned SO much from you. Whole worlds have been opened up, cinematically-speaking!

Why I am just now opening my mouth? Frankly, the recently voiced proposition that members of this forum who have hardly posted at all should be restricted has lit a fire under my butt. I COMPLETELY agree with this notion. I have taken advantage of you guys. I’ve taken, but not given. It’s not right that I have lurked for so long without contributing. Sooo…if I can sort of start over again, I would like to rejoin the Third Eye Forum, this time as an actual contributing member, and I hope that you guys don’t hold my past transgressions against me too much.

Whaddaya think?

Sincerely,

Allie
