Love the production number for the song from KPop Demon Hunters. Also like the song from "Sinners." I notice two Best Picture nominees are also up for International Films.
"Sinners" and "One Battle After Another" look very good, but I haven't seen any of the nominees. |

I meant a group is as slow as its slowest member. I find groups frustrating. I get bored and impatient. Feel trapped.
Funny story. I joined a vegetarian group on WeChat. They organize a buffet at a Shanghai veggie joint now and then. So I joined once. The main table was close to full, so I joined a girl at a two person table. Turned out she wasn't with our veggie group, wasn't even a vegetarian. I just hung out with her, met noone; at the end the organizer came over to say Hi to me for a minute. That's my effort at joining. And I preferred it to a table full of strangers ... |

I lost my cat Andromeda last Monday (diabetes which I neglected too long). So I'm catless for the first time in almost fourteen years. It's too soon for me to decide whether I want another cat. but I'm 74 years old now and it would be irresponsible for me to take in a kitten, so I would probably have to adopt an adult rescue cat and have to go through this again in six to ten years. And arrange for someone to take care of it if I can't. I want to post a picture but I think the site I used has gone under. Anyone have an alternate site.

On more cheerful news, I was amazed how smoothly Artemis II went, and, though I detest Trump on almost everything in his second term, Isaacman was a great choice for NASA administrator. I don't think Trump realizes Isaacman is a Democrat. Or maybe he does, because that was probably a reason he wasn't approved the first time.
Delighted to hear the election news from Hungary (assuming Magyar doesn't turn out to be an equal monster) and J. D. Vance getting egg on his face. This isn't all his fault (though he's singularly inept) since Trump sent him there to influence the election. How would we feel if Russian politicians came to the US and started campaigning for US candidates?
Among its other faults, the Trump administration is totally politically tone-deaf. It's looking like they will lose the House (normal for an off-year election, but it looks like a landslide) but very possibly the Senate. The map is against the Democrats, but if you get 10-15% more votes than your opposition, you start turning seats nobody expected.
I'm hoping Trump keeps sending Vance to countries about to hold elections since Vance has a reverse Midas touch. Send him to Turkey, India. Israel, Russia...
By the way, it's too early to predict the nominees in 2028, but Vance and Kamala Harris are the leaders and there is no way they will get the nominations. It's all name recognition. I think it will be two people we don't expect. My favorite is Josh Shapiro, but that may cause problems because he's a Jew and Middle East relations are complicated at the moment. Though I favor him anyway. |

| Agree Shapiro would have a struggle, especially given polling now shows a majority of Americans are okay with defunding Israel under its uberZionist demolition government. Newsom probably checks more boxes, and is centrist enough these days to woo some Independent voters. Harris was okay, but that smirk was problematic. Condolences on your kitty. We lost one of ours in November, most likely to a dangerous storm drain system, but we'll never be sure. All our cats have been descended from barn cats, so it's cruelty to keep them indoors - they just go nuts and then fall into depression if housebound. So letting them outdoors gives them a happier but often shorter lifespan. |
