Will check into it. Sounds good.
Funny I was just looking for mystery/crime fiction with cats involved.
As my mother (& I) really like cats.
Here's what I came up with so far:
The Long Drop, by Denise Mina
Claire DeWitt and the City of the Dead, by Sara Gran
The Thief, by Fuminori Nakamura
The Cat, the Quilt and the Corpse: A Cats in Trouble Mystery
The latter is a cat-related murder mystery. |

I haven't read any of Lillian Braun's cat mysteries, but I hear they are popular and there are dozens of them.
Westlake's "Dortmunder" novels are pretty dependable.
I like Gillian Flynn, too. The movie versions of her books have been disappointing, but I recommend the books. Sharp Objects, her debut novel, is a good starting place. |

Pretty sure my mother has read some or many of The Cat Who ... series.
I'm looking for specific title recs.
And can be other genres.
The last few years I've gotten my father some history-oriented books. Such as the one on Salt. And he grumbled that he doesn't like to read history books, but then enjoyed all of them, would quote parts to my mother, etc.
Sometimes folks get too wrapped up in their little world.
Though I know my mother generally doesn't like to read serious literature or anything too experimental. |

Both my mother and I enjoyed Anne Perry's Victorian murder mysteries featuring detective Thomas Pitt and his higher-status wife Charlotte (the first was "The Cater Street Hangman"). There are lots of them. You may recall that Perry went to prison for murder when she was 15 for five years (there was a movie based on the case). Now she's past 80 and still writing. |

A striking case of writing what you know. |

Sad news for us, bad news for the nation. RIP, Notorious RBG. |

I was surprised RBG didn't retire under Obama.
She was into her 80's with health issues.
This is the first seat in while that will change the balance significantly.
I was surprised that Justice Stevens lasted through 8 years of W Bush.
Then retired mid-Obama's 1st term to ensure a kindred replacement (Elena Kagan). Unfortunately a likely Trump appointment is going to be part of Ginsburg's legacy.
There's a 2008 RBG biopic On The Basis of Sex. It's pretty solid, if conventional. Felicity Jones does a credible job. |

Says something that RBG got a biopic. Not that many justices on SCOTUS get one. Who else? Thurgood, that's one. |

William Brennan should get one.
I'd also watch one on William O. Douglas, Louis Brandeis, Byron White, Cardozo, Taft, Oliver Wendell Holmes, John Marshall, John Jay, William Paterson. Also, Earl Warren, Hugo Black, Felix Frankfurter, Robert Jackson, Clarence Thomas, Scalia, Sandra Day O'Connor.
They should make a whole series of them, I'd be down with it. |

Billy, I hope someone is keeping an eye on your friend Mark Ruffalo. Someone in costume as The Hulk smashed Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a pickax on Friday morning. Apparently cops are rounding up the usual suspects. |

Ed Norton hasn't been ruled out either. |

We ran into the problem that Lorne was not able to set me up as an administrator for some reason that escapes both of us, which makes it pretty much impossible to admit new members. |
