Ascension, a 6 part miniseries, has a rather unusual premise and a twist in the 2nd episode that sneaks up nicely. Made me think of a story by Bruce Sterling, but if I specify and you've happened to read it, it will be a spoiler, so I'll just say it's worth a look. Now on netflix. Some thorny ethical issues are raised, and some may find clever metaphors about modern life. |

And The Librarians are back! If you missed the beginning, they're showing it again from 9 - 11 (8 - 10 eastern time) |

Grimm still hasn't mentioned that since Nick's son is a Grimm on his father's side and a Hexenbiest on his mother's side, he'll have to decapitate himself when he comes of age. |

Or, less dramatically, take up drinking. I've been missing the series. And Portland, where one of my (non-decapitating) children was born. |

Very cool. I had to watch it twice, and caught a couple of others as well. It's bad news that they're still delaying the next season--and that it might be the last--but it's encouraging that we're not the only People who are Interested.... |

Wow, AI as stroke victim with some sort of Oliver Sacks problem. Yes, we People who are Interested are a little incensed at having Spring offered then withdrawn. Whatever they are sticking in that slot in March won't be as good.
The only network offering I'm into right now is The Good Wife, which is taking full advantage of the election year to do some poking fun. Much enjoyed Peter and his ultimate failure choking down Loosemeat sandwiches. |

Knox, I'm liking the new season of TGW, too, though I've lived 60 miles from the Iowa border for several decades of my life and never heard of a Loosemeat sandwich.
Alicia needs to forgive Eli. She's going to poison herself with her anger at him. |

Anyone here seen Wayward Pines? Had not heard about until a friend mentioned as having some common themes with the 60s british series The Prisoner. Sounds like some good reviews and more confirmation of Shyamalan's comeback. |

When "Wayward Pines" was on a year or two ago, I watched a couple of episodes, but the murkiness of the plot, the characters, and the setting finally put me off. It does resemble "The Prisoner" in that a guy is stuck in a place that he's not being allowed to leave, but even when it got weird McGoohan's series made sense (and was set in a much more appealing town). I might give the new version a look, but what I'm really interested in checking out is "American Gothic." |

Will approach with due caution.
Saw the suffagette ep of Houdini & Doyle, reran last night...it's fun, built on the X Files template with a skeptic and a believer teamed up in London, 1901. A little easter egg for Breaking Bad fans - the actress who plays Lydia on BB here plays a 'gette also named Lydia. Given the show's theme, I had to wonder if that's a "reincarnation" joke. |

Caught a promo for "P of I" this morning and it looks as if we're finally going to find out what's happening with Shaw. It's about time. |

Whew!
I guess it's not "Die in the Matrix, and you die in the real world." |

I started to wonder when Finch blithely asserted that "the old stone in these churches apparently makes a good Faraday Cage."
And Shaw being so agile and quick after being strapped in bed for 9 months? |
